Humm. So okay, I kind of got a WAAAAAY larger response than I ever expected for my story idea of a Hot&Cold Danny. Basically a Pitch Pearl story (tho it doesn't have to be) about a Danny that temporarily got Vortex's polarization powers, accidentally split himself into his ice and fire/normal cores, blasted himself into the GZ, got amnesia, and was taken in by certain people that you can guess from this pic.

But anyway, I got SUCH a large response, with quite a few people leaving me awesome oneshots in the comments, that I couldn't help but promise them I'd make at least one more pic in the Hot&Cold verse.

So, here's a pic explaining a bit further the limits of Hot and Cold. In the primary pic you saw that when both halves touch, their skin takes on a human color, the skin color of Phantom. Well, physical contact between the two of them is the only way they can ever be near their opposite element. Since they are only half-a-core (a Halfakor? lol), they are weak to the element that they're missing. Don't get me wrong, they can still both use basic powers like flight/invisibility/intagibility, but Cold can't use the normal green ectoplasm, and Hot doesn't have a ghost sense, since that is an 'elemental' power. And since they are only half of a core, they are weaker than Phantom, though very versatile in their element.

So, for their first encounter with their weakness:

I think that Hot would get a nasty shock upon meeting Klemper for the first time. Klemper would give him a frosty hug, and Hot would get almost frozen before Skulker and Ember figured out what was going on. This would be one of the first times when their parental instinct kicked in. They're kinda both in denial about feeling anything familial for their charge, but when he's in danger Skulker instantly gets into a 'don't get anywhere near my kid' mode, while Ember would, albeit awkwardly at first, comfort Hot. I like to think that her hair would fall down when she's trying to be all motherly and caring (and it adds all the more to the intimidation effect when she finally stands up to deal with Klemper, and her hair goes up in flames of pure rage). Btw, Hot's weakness to ice is also another reason among many why Vlad wouldn't suspect him being Danny, because everyone knows Danny has an ice core.

As for Cold... well, as you prolly figured, he can't be anywhere near fire or heat. His first encounter with fire prolly happens during some sort of festival in the Far Frozen. He starts feeling dizzy and blacks out, and his form just starts to melt. This would be when Frostbite realizes that this is something more serious than just a case of amnesia, but he won't be able to figure out what until Hot finally comes into the picture. But anyway, Cold will recover from the event by cooling off somewhere. This event will also seal the deal for Frostbite - no one can know that 'Danny' is in the Far Frozen, especially his human friends, because they'd try to take him away and leaving the realm would kill him. And yes, Cold is at a severe disadvantage because he's weak against any and all ghost attacks with normal ectoplasm, but Frostbite will seek to correct that by training him to be the best warrior in the Far Frozen, and to fight in such a way that he won't even let an ectoblast touch him, defending with ice shields and attacking cunningly. As such, to his enemies he'll look as if he's barely flexing a muscle while fighting them, and even sneak attacks will be stopped with an instinctive ice shield.

Oh, and one more thing. THEY DON'T HAVE TO WEAR THE SAME OUTFIT ALL THE TIME. At least Hot, he's a trendy ghost teenager after all, tho he prefers black like his 'parents'. Cold, I think, would prefer his fur-lined white outfit cuz it helps him fit in with Frostbite's people, and he's harder to detect in the snow by any wandering ghosts.

And, uh, yeah... that's it from me for now. Wow, that's a large wall of text I dunno if I'll be able to update anything more during the holidays, cuz I have some 5 seminar papers to make in 2-3 weeks, but I'll try And hey, this has snow in it, sooo... it's holiday-related? Bleh, whatevs.
