I have been trying to figure that kind of lighting for myself with SAI, and just learning from self-experience or watching other people do it, it is VERY complicated. xD

Well, all i do in my case are milions of layers of luminosity, screen and overlay with diferent tonalities and colors. Other people do awesome things with only one layer...

That makes sense. Luminosity is good, but sometimes I have to TONE IT DOWN (lowering opacity or density, either one works) BECAUSE ITS TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO BRIGHT. (sorry xD)
Yeah, people really do. But their are more bigger shots than SAI. Photoshop has been the most outstanding program for that or even Clip. Art Studio or Medibang (it's free and it's kinda like Photoshop).
But SAI is a great painting program for anyone who like those cartoony, vibrant colors and it's pretty good for any digital artist beginner. I've been using SAI for a year and at least 8 months now.

Yeah, I know that feel x''D or when you export the draw it's too dark or bright and need to return to modify x''D
My laptop suports SAI with a little lag, and even if I try to do somethings in PSD (I used years ago, and now i have it free because where I study i have it x'D) But i finally prefer to use Sai because some effects do weird things in psd x'D

Sai takes a lot of the ram of the pc, to work good people need to have a huge ram and suport pc x''D
