I tried but it didn't finish, I just tried again but I'm on dialup and after 10 minutes of loading the page it still didn't go through, way too many thumbs for dialup and I'm not a patient person and wanted to use my pc. I even stopped loading the page and clicked the fave button but an hourglass appeared and never added it, awesome features though. I'll fave it when I get to use the library computer as they have DSL there.

you're welcome, looking back at it they're mostly dark gradients rather than colorful but then there's lots of those out now, have fun

If you mean the gradients they are free for anyone to use for any purpose. If you mean one of my actual apophysis flames that's okay too as I almost always use the share-and-share alike feature basically making them stock to use.
Feel free to do what you want, no need to credit me, I would like to see what you make

you'll need winzip/winrar or if you don't have either of those you can use the free 7-zip
[link]
extract the .ugr file somewhere and then open it from the gradient browser in apophysis

if you mean the Caracal, it's right in the middle, looks like funny looking cat (facing right), it blends in since it's the same gradient from the pack used for the preview picture.

Oh, I think you mean to open the .rar file to get the gradients
if you don't have winzip or winrar you can use the freeware program 7-zip: [link]

Ok One last time, download 7-zip:
[link]
It is FREE and will open any rar or zip file
It doesn't cost anything, winzip and winrar etc. do,
that's why I posted the link to it

I checked it, it works for me,
Click the download link on the left side, once you have the file you can use 7zip to open it. Nothing special anyway it's just a gradient pack, so you're not really missing anything (other than the ability to open other gradient packs people have put in a zip or rar file)

Ok, I uninstalled 7-zip from my pc, then I downloaded it from this link:
[link]
and then Installed it.
Then I downloaded the gradient pack from this link:
[link]
and opened it with 7-zip without any problems.
Why you can't do that I have no idea.
I'm starting to think you're just messing with me because I just proved to myself again
for a fact that it works.

well most of them are, with the exception of Bat since I use a black bat picture, what the heck was I thinking???
Surprising how many gold/brown animals there are, everything from A to Z with the exception of U, there's no U animals since the Unicorn is extinct.

Thanks for the tip.
I like making gradients inside Apo from photos.
I don't know how to keep them or take them out though.

Sorry I missed this comment before, you may know how by now but just in case you can do it like this:
Once the gradient had loaded from the pic you used, right-click directly ON the gradient in the gradient box, towards the bottom there's a "Save Gradient" option, in the top box write the name of your pack you want to save (Winkles.ugr for example) and in the bottom part name your gradient. Then every time you create a gradient from a pic using the smooth palette function you can save it in your own .ugr file
Use the gradient browser to change to a different pack, remember that the gradient will get saved in whatever .ugr file you have open at the time.

How many Gradients are we allowed to have in our gradients folder for Apophysis? I'd love to snag this, if it wont make my Apophysis crash.

FracFx In reply to LiquidCandyRainbow [2008-04-22 06:48:46 +0000 UTC]
Wow, Very good question!
As far as I know there is no limit like there is with plugins (30).
I have many (everyone in my faves + ones I made) in a folder called C:\Apophysis202\Gradients
I created the sub-folder in Windows Explorer (just like I did with the plugin folder) and just copy all gradients I make or download to it.
I use the gradient browser to open the pack.
So I guess the limit would be however many files you are allowed in a sub-folder in a Windows OS.
I've never had apo crash on me due to gradients, it's usually due to plugins conflicting, like epispiral and lazysusan together in the plugin folder in my experience even if they aren't used in the flame causing a divide by 0 error or something.
Hope that helps
~TJ

Hah Im glad I asked a good question! I have never had Apophysis crash on me ever, and I don't want it to start now, so. But Thanks for the informative answer and explanation. I have a similiar setup for Gradients as well, ones I have made and I guess now ones I have downloaded.

FracFx In reply to SuicideBySafetyPin [2008-04-19 16:45:21 +0000 UTC]
It's a winrar file, you need winzip or winrar to open it:
Winrar: [link]
After that copy the .ugr file to the apo folder or apo\gradients folder if you made a gradient folder, then open the gradient browser in Apophysis and open the Animals.ugr file
