Amazing coloration - what's really fascinating is getting both images in exactly the same position and clicking from one to t'other! lol! OK so I'm just juvenile!!!

Thank you very much. I guess I'm juvenile too because I love to do that.

This has to be Frances Farmer.. Ive read about her and seen a movie about her life.. Very interesting.. I just love the way you redid this photo. You are very good at it... Keep up the good work... I will have to go over and check out Lori's new stock acct...

Yes, it's her. I really liked the movie about her. Thank you much for your compliment and fave. Do check out Lori's stock; she's got a lot of vintage photos and many of them are very high quality and quite a few "recognizable" people. I can't seem to stop working on them.

Frances Farmer ?
I'll tell you what this EXACTLY reminds me of ..... a picture I have of my grandmother when she was young .... maybe 19 ? 20 ? And it was a sepia toned that was "painted" .... it has that exact same look with the skin tone & the blush to the cheek.
It had to've been 1923/1924 because my grandmother was born 1904.
I know you went for the 40's glamour shot look here Cerenity but let me tell you hon, and no criticism meant, you predated it hon. You missed that mark maybe, but you hit another one dead center.
Nice shot.

She was a rather tempestuous actress who was committed to asylums a few times. [link]
I had the worst time trying to get the skin tone on her even though the photo is of great quality. I probably should have played with the saturation on the original a little. I'm really happy with just about everything else, especially the sofa cushion. Thanks so much for the fave.
I've got at least 3 more done or close to it. They are quite addictive.

Thanks, Jenn. I'd only heard of her through Jessica Lange's movie "Frances" but this is Frances Farmer.

No kidding!! She was quite a fabled and sensationalized personality in her day. Nevertheless, she was a knockout!

That's what the stock photo says. I loved the movie about her but I don't think I've seen any with her in them. After working on this, I looked her up and found out she was from Seattle.

Fantastic job on the clothing, skin and lips! It would be better in my opinion however, if the eyelashes were a bit more visible, and I think that the blue eyes look a bit unnatural.

FractalEyes In reply to Fieruta [2007-09-18 19:41:54 +0000 UTC]
Thanks so much, I appreciate your input. I thought about adding eyelashes using one of the great lash brushes but wasn't sure I could get them to blend in enough. The eye color isn't quite what I wanted but I have seen some people with a really deep blue color. Thanks also for the fave.
