A beautiful piece of work, I really like the contrast of the smooth circular area and the textures in the background. Having a limited colour palette enhances all the different shapes and textures.

yeah, nice use of contrasting shapes and textures! and the cool blue tone really seems to work well with the whole piece.

Thanks. I almost left in grey-scale but it was too dark so I started playing with the gradients and this seemed to fit both the piece and the way I was feeling.
