Description Updated to 1960x1470 resolution when downloaded

Here’s my contribution to the hearts of the Valentine. Ultra Fractal, Cubic Parameterspace3 by Greenseng her on DA. Although two layers, the little Mandy is NOT placed in the head of the greater Mandy on an artificially way. In fact this is a picture of a certain area of a 2D slice of the four dimensional cubic parameter space drawn with respect to both critical orbits. More about all this can be read of in article “16) Introduction to Cubics” in my Chaotic series of fractal articles (<- right click if the link doesn't work). So ..

.. Magnification in a 2D-slice of the four dimensional cubic parameter space using the standard parameterizing z -> z^3 - 3a^2 z + b, critical points z = +a (making the set M+) and z = -a (making the set M-).

*a_real = 0
*a_imag = 0.9
*b_real = #pixel (horizontal))
*b_imag = #pixel (vertical)

Both M+ and M- plotted in separate layers.

No filters or postprocessing except anti-aliasing (from 6400 x 4800) and a little sharpening.

Ultra Fractal, formula Cubic Parameterspace3 in the sp3-module written by my dear friend Stig Pettersson, Greenseng here at DeviantART. All his modules, as well as mine can be downloaded from here

More info about Cubics can be foud at my Cubic Tutorial and my Chaotic series of fractal articles.

Below the parameter file. Play and have fun

HAPPY VALENTINE everyone, and don’t get lost in the Switch Mode

I may have asked that before (and I am sorry for forgetting) but what software do you use for your fractals? The code looks intriguing!

Ultra Fractal (UF) which sorry not is free, but you may have it for some time as trial. It's one of the best programmed fractal software in this universe. You are able to write really advanced plugins, which my friend Greenseng here on dA have performed You've probably read the Artist's Comments

Thank you for sharing that with me, I will check that software out! I code a little bit (I mostly do Java, I am currently working on a project connected to radiotherapy) and I am also studying in the Faculty of Physics so I've always wonderded not only about the result of your fractals but also how they were created! I also read a bit about the whole Mandelbrot thing and it's quite cool!

Ooh, that my pleasure If you are familiar with the standard Mandelbrot set, the next  step being the full analogy for cubic polynomials and higher. For that (right click the links),

First Study carefully my old Cubic Tutorial and then

second article 16 an the following in my Chaotic series of fractal articles.

You see I am a strong teacher

So far I've looked through the pages and when  I have more time I will study that! I don't know if I have 100 % enough knowledge to understand that fully but I will try. Do you have any education background when it comes to maths ? Or are you self-taught?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

FractalMonster In reply to Pen-and-mouse [2019-03-12 18:56:33 +0000 UTC]

That's a good start. The knowledge you must have is about complex numbers (for sure you have and also the concept of iteration (i also think you have)

No, i am just a wannabe mathematician and a dreamer The only academic merit I have are some course in Sanskrit and an  essay of the old Indian way of describing grammar. But that I probably mentioned before

Pen-and-mouse In reply to FractalMonster [2019-03-12 20:07:15 +0000 UTC]

Well, that seems like a knowledge that I do have! I think that my knowledge in maths and physics is bigger than I may expect sometimes... but it's also chaotic...thanks to the education system here. That's why I try to explore on my own and somehow put all the pieces together.

Wow, that's impressive! And how long have you been into fractals? Do you like just creating them and the whole process or do you use them for something?

And by the way, I have just started writing my thesis! It's about the Monte Carlo modeling of 3d printed elements for the use in radiotherapy. I don't know if you've ever heard of that.

FractalMonster In reply to Pen-and-mouse [2019-03-12 22:36:41 +0000 UTC]

Also my own experience is that the best learning is by exploring myself, the more chaotic the better learning.

As long as I been a computer owner, that is since 1990. I ought to write a journal how I become interested in them. I love both exploring them and trying to understand them. the algorithm(s) is SO simple but the calculations enormous And I use to say that a fascinating thing with the era we are living in is, that the most psychedelic fuzzy and the most dry mathematics have taken an big embrace to each other. That's so fantastic

No, I never heard about it, I had to not google but startpage it For sure it's interesting. Wish you a really good luck

You are probably right, but it also makes me feel like I am never "good enough", which is quite stupid for two reasons, one being the fact that it's not a competition and I myself am be the person who uses my own
