Yesterday morning, a very good feline friend of mine had to be put to sleep. His name was Malaki and he was a long-haired ginger tabby cat. No one knows what happened to him, but he was discovered lying on the floor with blood coming out of his mouth and rectum. So, he was taken to the emergency vet, and the vet said he was suffering and it was best to put him down. My husband John and I have been crying for the past two days. We were close to Malaki because he was the "Work Cat" that "worked" at the bus yard with all the school bus drivers. He was owned by the owner of the company and he lived at the bus yard building and would wander outside to do a cat's business every day. John is a bus driver in his retirement as a system's engineer and has worked there for three years and I worked for a month there when I was trying to work. My MS kept me from keeping the job, so I had to leave. But I grew close to Malaki during that month and very often John would send me photos of him with him holding the kitty or just pictures of the cat walking around doing cat things. I will miss seeing new pictures of him and I will miss hearing the frequent stories John would come home to tell me about Malaki. Malaki was very popular at the bus yard and loved by all the bus drivers. There is another cat named Blackie Chan who is a big black cat and I just know he will miss his Malaki buddy.
