The idea of a boundary has always interested me. We tend to think of them as continuous and impermeable. But reality disagrees. Most boundaries in living things are at most semi-permeable and permit the transmission of certain substances across them. Most boundaries in living things are relatively destructible. That’s why we need things like clothing, houses, and security bunkers. In this image we might well be looking at a mathematical attack on a mathematical boundary. I think somebody could make a wonderful intellectual career by performing a serious study of the philosophy of boundaries. What do you think?
