Description
I've been experimenting with resin and wood this month. I lot of fun and a lot learned, like all resins are not the same, some get soft or even gooey when sanded, some are sticky a week later. Color can be added using just about anything but some look much better than others. Color swirls are beautiful to add but the color and opaqueness will change slightly over time. Some molds work better than others, although you don't have to give it a finish once it's sanded down resin is easily scratched if you don't. But mostly I learned THERE IS SO MUCH SANDING TO BE DONE!!!!! Seriously I am so sick of sanding! In this second set (of probably 3) I experimented with not only the resin and colors but also finishes, oils, lacquer, poly, unfinished and so much more. I used multiple woods including walnut, padauk, purple heart, ironwood and so many of my old shop scraps.
It's hard to say how long I spent because there is literally hours and hours of sanding for each piece and this is only a few of the many pieces I made and of the many I have still to finish sanding.
