What can i say but...wow. Just. Wow.
I'll admit that animation isn't usually a big thing for me on DeviantArt unless it's creative and wonderfully done, and this is no exception. Aside from it only being several seconds long, the linework and the tracing matches the tone and the style of what the scene is trying to accomplish. The colors blend together really well too, offering us a beautiful sky and backdrop while the movements of the little girl allow for a beautiful melody.
Speaking of which, the music is icing on the cake for this scene, giving us a blend of animated drawings and musical soundtrack that tells a snippet of a story. For me, I feel like this animated segment is a moment of clarity, like the little girl is realizing something significant and accepts it.
I hope you make so much more in the future! e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s⦠" width="15" height="15" alt="

nice work here! i have one little tip for you, as a fellow animator:
the waving of the hair is nice, but it can be improved a lot by doing some simple adjustments (although this means a bit of redrawing).
when you have all the bangs moving outwards at once, you can assume that there is a pretty decent wind blowing, and you showed that well with the clouds in the background. if such a strong wind is blowing, you can actually hold the main mass of hair out, but then have the smaller strands of hair flicking around, giving a more constant feel of wind. also, when the hair goes back to the starting position, instead of making the hair fall all the way back to your first cycle frame, make the hair fall less, as if the wind was still there, but not as much (also indicated by the background clouds). after the hair falls to this new stopping point, simply start your cycle from there, to give a more consistent feel, which ties it in to the background better.
also, sorry if this could have been in a critique, i didnt think Β i was really critiquing the work, just sort of trying to help you for future projects

Oh also, do you have any links for some good resources for someone who's looking to get started with projects like this? I've been wanting to learn After Effects for animated illustrations for quite some time!

The hair waving effect looks very good, as does the background effects.

Of course, as a fellow animator I know how much work typically goes into these.
I hope you continue improving and adding features to your animations.
Good luck.
