Description
Boke and I tired and tired but every time we got together something came up. Bakageta would need me or Omeko would need Boke. Niisan would want to get to know more about me or Meiru needed Boke’s shoulder to cry on. Boke even tried to skip out on his classes and come home to see me but as soon as we’d start to fool around, something would happen. We’d forget protection or I’d get an insufferable ache in some odd part of my body. It was useless. Fate was against us.Today was no different. He snuck up on me in the shower but since we were both so tired, we ended up swaying together against the water. It was nice but it wasn’t what we were going for. Boke and I agreed to be lovers, not an item, but everything was forcing us to spend time together instead of having simple sex. I was tired of it.
I walked around the mansion, bored out of my mind. For the few days I’d lived there, I’d found out Niisan and I were the oldest other than for Max, who never spent any time at home, anyway. We were the only ones who were supposed to be home all day, not like the rest of them who still attended high school.
A tall male with dark green hair passed by me in the hallway, carrying an open book in front of him. I turned as soon as he’d passed me and watched him walking away, oblivious to any of his surroundings. He was built; his tight button-down school uniform pressed against his perfectly molded body and aroused my senses. It could have been the days of rolling around with Boke or it could have been the way his cologne smelled but this creature had to introduce himself or else I didn’t know what I’d do with myself.
“Hey.” He was still within hearing distance when I’d spoken.
He stopped and turned his head, as if to check if he’d been hearing things. When he noticed me, he turned completely around. “I’m sorry. I didn’t see you there.” A blank expression; he didn’t seem shocked, happy or discontent. He just seemed there; maybe irritated that I tore him away from his reading?
“I’m Mondaiji. We sort of met yesterday.” I walked towards him, shyly holding both of my hands behind my back, feeling my long hair rocking along with my movements.
He closed his book, placing a bookmark into it and sliding it into his back pocket. “The name’s Shinikaru but you’re welcome to call me anything you like.” He took my hand into his and kissed it, continuously looking into my eyes.
“Charmed.”
He stood against the wall, placing his hands into his pockets. His shirt was hanging out loosely, different from how I’ve seen the rest of the school boys. Shirts were by regulation supposed to be tucked in but I hated that type of look on a guy. “Bored, I’m assuming? There’s never anything to do around here when they’re all at school.”
“Aren’t you supposed to be there, as well?” I stood three or four feet away from him, watching him move his gaze from the floor in front of us to myself. His green eyes locked onto mine and I wasn’t sure if I’d seen a grin on his lips for those few seconds.
“I left early.”
“Can’t you get in trouble for that?”
“Only if I get caught.” He stood up straight and reached his hand out to touch my face. “But that’s only is Niisan finds out.” He stepped so close to me that I could feel his mint breath on my cheek. “But you’re not going to tell on me, are you?” Tilting his head, I was sure he was going to kiss me. My hands automatically rose to push him away but to my revelation, he hadn’t been getting any closer.
“You’re trying to intimidate me?” I leaned away.
He looked at me like he’d done a minute earlier and then smirked evidently. Releasing a laugh, he surprised me completely.
I waited for him to stop and it didn’t take him long to; his laugh was quite pleasing; softer than his voice and not loud enough to be alarming. It made me smile; something I didn’t expect to happen.
“I like you.” He brushed his hair back, running his fingers through it while using the other hand to produce his book once more. “I have to get going, but I’ll be sure to see you around. It’s been a pleasure.”
A pleasure, indeed.
I walked into the kitchen about an hour before supper. Niisan was told to practically be living in the kitchen, always cooking or cleaning something. I thought since he’d welcomed me so pleasingly, I could return the favor and come down to talk. Once I’d opened the door, I saw his sleeves rolled up, cleaning what looked like a never-ending pile of dirty dishes.
“Need some help?”
He turned quickly and smiled at me with his eyes and mouth. “Don’t be silly. I live for this. But I’d be thrilled if you sat down and kept me company.”
Following his orders, I sat at the counter between the sink and the clean dishes. I took a rag and offered without words to dry them for him. “Could you answer an odd question for me?”
He’d made direct eye-contact whenever I’d spoken to him. His facial expression showed his features somewhat worried, if features could state emotions at all. “I can try.”
“Tell me about Boke and Shinikaru.”
“Got tangled into two infatuations, now, have you? And you’ve only lived here for a few days!” His smile eased me, since it had been so incredibly heartwarming. He had a smile that forced the room to shine.
“No, no. I’m not interested in either of them like that. They’re simply the only people here I’ve met other than you and Bakageta.”
He handed me a plate with a strawberry carved into its center. “What about them would you like to know?”
“I don’t know. I sort of figured you’d pour something out and once I’d heard something I’d like, I’d ask you to stop.”
He chuckled a bit, which caused me to smile. “That’s making things a little difficult but I can try.” Clearing his throat, he straightened his posture teasingly and started to clean another plate. “Shini is a hard one to explain, really. He’s not like any other person any of us have ever met. His thoughts and reactions to things are somewhat altered from a normal way of doing things, but that’s probably what gives him such a charming edge. Oh, and he’s an honor student which is purely understandable because he’s always reading.”
“Honor student, really?”
“The complete opposite of Max, I’d say, which makes it strange that he gets along so well with him and Boke.”
“They’re one of those trios, then? That’s kind of adorable.” I dried another plate, ignoring the footsteps from around the opened kitchen door.
“Boke’s more of a straight-shooter. An open book, if I may. Sure, he has his secrets and mysteries, as do all of us, but other than those select few, he tells it like it is, treats everyone with the respect he’d like to be treated with and he’s an all-around nice guy.”
“How is he with girls, if that’s not asking too much?”
Niisan seemed troubled by my question but I was too curious to let him cease explaining. “Not so good, I’d say. Not that it’s ever his fault. There just aren’t any girls who are ready for a guy like him.”
“Ready?”
“Stop talking about me, will you?” Boke walked into the kitchen, already changed from his school uniform. He didn’t get home until late since he was on the football team, but he was always in time for supper.
“Oh, but you’re so mysterious.” I jumped off of the counter and let him greet me with a kiss. Niisan didn’t seem to mind our disgusting teenage display of affection but I didn’t want to seem like too much of a little girl so I pulled away quickly and turned to bid Niisan farewell.
Tugging Boke by his arm, I couldn’t wait to get back into my room. I assured him in the morning that we’d try to start our sexual relationship for the last time and if it didn’t work, I was going to give up on him. We’d stopped at every floor with him pinning me to the wall and kissing me so roughly I thought I’d lose the strength to continue walking. But once we’d reached the third floor, someone else’s lips came into the picture.
He looked at me again, as if he could see behind my eyes and into something deeper within me. I’d never really thought there was anything deeper but he analyzed me with his glare as if he could read into my mind. As Boke kissed me, I couldn’t close my eyes anymore; I couldn’t get myself to kiss back. We both paused and greeted Shinikaru with embarrassed nods.
“That’s the trouble with the fourth floor. So many staircases and so little patience.” Boke joked, taking my hand and walking up the stairs with me once more. But I couldn’t keep my eyes off of the green-eyed creature who bore himself deep into me.
Shinikaru’s lips moved but I couldn’t quite make out what they were trying to say to me.
Boke and I had finally gotten ourselves to bed and into the embrace we’d been longing for. I had finally satisfied him and yet just when what I’d been waiting for had happened, I didn’t need it anymore. I couldn’t think about anything but the charmer I’d met on the third floor.
“So this means you’re not giving up on us?” Boke spoke. I wanted to see the difference between Shinikaru’s, Niisan’s and Boke’s eyes. When I’d first met him, I could have sworn they were red, it actually excited me since he’d looked so dangerous. As we lied together, pressed against each other feeling accomplished and relieved, at least I knew I did, I saw that his vision hadn’t been surrounded by crimson, after all. Only a dark shade of orange, just like his hair.
I sat up and looked around for a towel. “I’m going to take a shower.”
“Is something wrong?” He rose as well, poisoning me with his beautiful pale flesh and the upsetting color hidden underneath his blinking lids.
I felt cheated.

Its nice start to the novel! I hope to see more. I love the way you put everything into what seems to be a simplistic yet unreal detail. I wish I had your skills at writing. I really love the first person perspective.

I'm glad you like it. It's not exactly the beginning but it's the first part I've written for it so far. I have a bunch of the other parts out of chronological order if you'd like to see them. Other than that, thank you for bothering to read this. lol. You're probably the only one.
