I wish that you could see.
That there’s a decent person buried inside of me.

I wish that you could hold me.
I wish I wouldn’t cry.
Or that I’d have the strength to force these haunting tears to die.

You’re the only one I have,
So try to understand.
You’re the only one with strength to teach me how to stand.

So before you punch the mirror,
Look into these eyes.
I know the hurt you’ve held before their aged, tormenting lies.

Don’t try to desecrate me.
Don’t try to shut me down.
For I’m the only one who sees you’re ever-hidden frown.

If you would simply settle,
Then I would give you space.
For I would give up everything to once feel your embrace.

I wish that you could love me.
Just tell me what to do,
So I can make you understand that in the end, I’m you.

::shiver.:: you should be in a band just to write the lyrics...if all this stuff was put to some really nice, melodic tunes, maybe *true* alternative [like it used to be truely alternative music..as opposed to how it is now.. being alternative and sounding like everything else :\] or something...it would just go really well. hope you don't mind me saying that...i'm just a music freak and sometimes poems i think have potential to be really moving songs. ^^

That's really nice of you, thanks. I would write songs, but I'm technically musically impared. Well, I can play, but not any *cool* instrument, lol.

Technically, I am in a bad but we only talk about playing and never really do. I'm the bassist. I get to die first. [/inside joke]
