a picture of my gorgeous friend Jhaesayte taken last night at the Fetish Masquerade.. we were both rather drunk, so it isn't the greatest sample of photography, but i really like it anyway.
she is leaning up against the bathroom mirror.

it's a very unique picture! =3 like all hte other favorites, I really enjoy the creativeness (even if you were a bit tipsy) on this!

As a work of art it is beautiful. The colours are simply splendid. The expression is wonderful. There isn't much anything new or original that I can add to the comments that have already been posted. ^^
As a depiction of a geisha, however, it leaves much to be desired.
*The collar is always pulled away from the nape; in geisha, this is especially pronounced.
*If a geisha chooses not to wear white makeup, her eye makeup will be far less severe.
*The hair is styled in a very traditional shimada style; it is not simply gathered and "puffed." Due to the fact that a woman must have hair about a metre long to create this style using her hair alone, most if not all geisha today use katsura. [wigs]
*A geisha, or a traditional Japanese person in general, would never wear hashi [a chopstick] in the hair. Although they are shaped somewhat like some proper kanzashi, think of how silly I'd look if I walked around with my hair done up in forks!

we were dressed up for a theme night at a club and were making the best of what we had for our outfits. we were just aiming for the general look, not trying to be historically accurate. it costs thousands of dollars to put together a true and authentic geisha outfit. a bit too much $ for a couple girls just having some fun on the town.

Er... this was just a costume made in a day. It's not SUPPOSED to be the real thing. Maybe if I had a stylist to do my hair for me instead of doing it myself, or money to buy a $1000 kinono, then yes, it would have looked real. Plus, I decided to modernize it and make it gothy/creative instead of authentic. It was, after all, for a gothic fetish night.
You shouldn't take life so seriously hun! Have some fun with things! See the creative side of it instead of the way things are supposed to realistically be.

is it because you are drunk therefore the composition is not perfectly symmetrical (having the girl taking up more space than her reflection)?

Ummm...my Lady ?!?...this "Druken Snap Shot"...is pushing me to smash my cameras I have into dust & blast all my sketch books into oblivion...seriously...this is almost to much...In my opinion....(with the exception of only a small handful of male photographers)....women, by far make the best photographers in the world...hands down...women hold within them the power to just f'n Instantaneously Drill the viewers insides with Colour & Vibrating-ly Raw Emotion.....

I really like the fact that its off center. It adds a very unique style to it that you dont see all to often with mirror images. Props on your drunken photo skill.
