fragilemuse-org In reply to OnomatoMoeia [2004-08-27 23:54:48 +0000 UTC]

yep
the title of this piece was inspired partially by thier song "how we quit the forest"

i knew it ... i went on tour with the girls and john two summers ago and saw them when they came out here about three/four weeks ago. you should send them your photo. they had a coloring chalange going foe awhile. you could get the Molora Bobble Head Doll.

wow! that must have been fun to do
it's too bad they rarely ever make it up to Toronto..
thanks for the tip, maybe i will send the picture to them

OnomatoMoeia In reply to fragilemuse-org [2004-08-29 20:37:48 +0000 UTC]

it was good molora is really a very simple person. she wore these overalls all the fucken time. and john has a huge gambling problem. they make it here once or twice a year, and that is when they aren't on tour.

a lot of your stuff is really neat
but i hate how there's always that web advertisement right in the center of the page
subtle yet irritating

fragilemuse-org In reply to ninjalady [2004-08-02 04:25:12 +0000 UTC]

it's called a watermark and is there to prevent image theft. before i started putting it on all my work i was getting ripped off constantly. sucks i have to use it, but it's better than having my art stolen every single day.

Very cool lookin i thin kthis one will sell! I like the concept and the model and the choice in black and white and the textures...the holes make it special and intruging..great job...

on the critical side

I wouldnt put it on my wall....wouldnt want my kids looking at such sites...a little too gruesome for them they are still rated g.....just somethign to think about when trying to sell prints....to the masses....then again maybe thats something you dont care to do...had this piece not had the holes i might have felt differently

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

fragilemuse-org In reply to o-x-o---Nika---o-x-o [2004-06-17 16:37:43 +0000 UTC]

thank you! i agree, it is a bit on the gruesome side and isn't appropriate for children
i used the holes to express what it felt like to move from the forests into the city, how it felt as it something was being torn out of me.

ah i didnt get that but yes i do feel ya i moved from sil spring md to nyc one time and that was culture shock! lol (times square area....talk about alot of people!!) now i live in nice quiet georgia with my kids and its oh so much different...better i think...in some ways at least for child rearing

shadowmageix [2004-06-02 17:08:08 +0000 UTC]

A very evocative piece, it really tells a story to me (possible that it's just in my head, but still)
I really fancy it, there's one nagging little thingie though, the fitth hole on her spine, counting from the top, seems a bit awkwards in regards to perspective.

yes, you are right.. it looks twisted the wrong way.. hmmm..
i'll have to fix that.. thanks for pointing it out

The title somehow reminds me of a song by the band 'Rasputina'... But then, everything reminds me of a song.

I love the wings. They actually fit onto the figures back instead of seeming to be cut and pasted onto a picture. My friend has holes like that in her back... It's like a skin corset. She can tie it up with ribbons. Wierdest thing.

Point is, good work

fragilemuse-org In reply to Glasschmetterling [2004-04-01 03:19:44 +0000 UTC]

yep, this picture was inspired in part by the rasputina song

oooh.. those corset piercings are so pretty..
your friend must be brave, there is no way i could do something like that!
