that's just amazing, you have so many artistic skills!
i've done the woodcut before, but instead of wood we used a lino type of material, it takes hours and many, many cut fingers, definately not worth it
woo my amazing use of the english language completely mentioned everything technical involved in...woodcut? lol
i love the gargoyle, it reminds me of a character from a book actually

thank so much for the wonderful comments! i've never done woodcuts before. it's something i've always wanted to learn how to do though.

I'm loving your ink work. I like the darkness in this one, and the way it contrasts with the pale skin. The gargoyle is very original looking and well drawn. Very cool.

thank you, thank you, thank you! this is one of my favorite pieces. it doesn't get as much attention as some of my other work, i guess because it's not as shocking. but i was very happy with how the muscle structure turned out (even though in 'reality' most of those muscles are impossible! )

Sadly, it's probably because it doesn't feature a semi-nude woman. Another artist and I were just discussing how people zoom right in and comment on anything with nudity, even if it isn't as good as the stuff around it. Sad, but also kind of funny. Well, glad that I could comment on it...it's very well drawn and striking. The muscles do look great. And, even if they are impossible, it's a fantastical creature you're drawing, so you have an excuse.

Such intricate body structure... must have taken bloody ages! It reminds me of those illustrations on medevil literature... namely about witch craft/ demons etc... (not sure what they're called). I cant seem to use inks... it the kid in me... it gets everywhere... then i get them taken off me... ... ... ... so this is very impressive with the amount of shading and detail

thanks, for such detailed comments! try using drafting pens, they don't leak as much and they have very consistent flow for the ink, it's how i was able to get the fine detail in this one. the look i was going for was pretty close to what you said, about medeival literature, that kind of wood-block look.(woodcut? can't remember the name of that style of art where they carve in a block of wood and roll ink on it) thanks for alwasy being so supportive!

oh, also club soda should get ink out of your clothes, and there is this soap called 'lava' (don't know if they have it where you are) that should get it off of your hands. just for future reference.

And I thought your photography was amazing...This is wicked awesome. I used to draw gargoyles but not nearly that good. The detail is exquisite and the body structure is really good. I'd better stick to my dragons.
