Too bad a while doesn't last forever...
At first glance, of course, I thought this would be a bit more optimistic or happy or something. Heh. But true to ^ frail , there's definitely two sides to it.
How long will it take for the ledge to break?...
As always, fascinating simplicity, beautifully done, and emotional.
Just how I like it.

This is very, very meaningful! I like your way to tell this message... it's very simple and original, so it's very direct and powerful!
We all know that the all the things we like and make us happy before or later will have an end...
But I personally prefere to ignore this though... thus you can live in your own ideal world, feel keen desires, love and hate with your whole heart, let imagination run away, hope in unlikely events.... Unfortunatly, when all will end, our sorrow will be as great and as deep as the joy we felt before the end...

not quite what it seems?
what happens when he touches the butterfly...
does he hold on?
he's risking it all for the chance to fly!

Yes frail, i agree with a few comments here, your work is conveyed simply but extremely effective, works like these show that not only skill is needed but a strong concept, and this peice personally has bearing on me which makes it even more enticing but also revolting, you know sometimes when a work is so true it can sometimes be hard to look at.

Or is there places other than the cliff?

Beautiful, the colors are nice and soft and the little guy (or gal) is oblivious to his impending doom. I love it.

This reminds me of a book of poems that I read when I was a kid. It was called "Where the sidewalk ends" and this makes me think of a twisted, cynical republishing of the book.
