Nice. Wonder if the angle and depth could be emphasized more somehow...
As part of a bit larger shot, where you could recognize something on the background, this would work really well. Some other object would make the abyss-effect more obvious to the eye, I think.
I remember one of the water globes being suicidal too, in autumn.

Thanks! These flakes were pretty large (3mm or so) so the resolution came out pretty well
