Description More photography goodies: Framed By Nature .NET

Found this creepy-looking guy burrowed in the bark of our neighbor's decaying tree. I doubt he's the actual source of the decay (looked like it was a fungus/disease) but he looked just about sinister enough to be. The "stinger" on his back creeped me out

Can't wait to be done with this project! It's fun, but also very challenging. Don't worry though, I'll shoot some more interesting scenes (maybe some infrared?) around Zorinsky tomorrow

Please tell me what you think!

I've been finding these little guys sneaking into my house when it gets too hot out for them. They're annoying...mostly harmless, but annoying. And icky XD Good shot of one, though!

Love those little guys... had lots of them in the backyards of the last two houses I lived in, I recall they really like flowers for some reason. (Never been pinched myself, always thought those claws were just for show)

earwigs are gross. and they seem to have a tendency to run towards you instead of away from you like good little bugs are supposed to do

Nice. I've never known earwigs to hold still for very long.

I'm having a lot of fun with this project. Yes, it's certainly challenging, but rewarding, too. Sometimes I'll end up with 2 really good pics of different species, so I'll just use one for the project and give the other an "honorable mention."

I could definitely see how those pincers would come in handy.

There's a myth that the earwig supposedly burrows into one's eardrum and lays eggs in the ear canal. Not true, of course, but pretty freaky.
