Ask and thou shalt receive! The next in my lineup of Achievement Huntsmen, where I turn Achievement Hunters into RWBY OCs, is none other than Mr. Gavin Free. Gavin was a lot of fun to draw, and I've started working more little AH Easter eggs into these. I'll give you one up front, simply because I'd like to credit the idea to Hazzamo16 for making Gavin's weapon a bow. It might be a little hard to read, but the arrow says "NUTT-CRACKER" on the shaft, in honor of Mark Nutt. The bow itself is inspired by an XBOX One controller and Astro headphones, in keeping with the theme of gaming-style weapons.As a weird side note, IS GAVIN'S HAIR ALIVE? As in, is it sentient? Because that dude has straight-up ridiculous anime hair. Fun to draw though, so whatever.

Y'Know what, out of all the Achievement Hunter weapons you've designed, I could actually see this one working in RWBY, as Ray's weapon just screams OVERDESIGNED and showing too much stuff into it, while I feel that Michael's weapon could've used the XBox controller as a sort of shield, and I'm not even sure what Lindsay's weapon is, a sword or something?
And Jack's weapon just looks like it would work better if you would take out the armor, which is odd for me to say as I feel like RWBY characters should have some armor, Β and just made the Motorcycle parts into "rollerblades" that could be used to move around quickly.
Either way, I'm liking this weapon, and I mean no offense to any of the other designs, I just want to see RWBY weapons that aren't overly complicated.

No offense taken at all! I appreciate you taking the time to look at all their weapons and designs. You've offered some really interesting ideas on how I could have approached their weapons differently, and now I do kinda regret not making any XBox controllers a shield. RWBY weapons in general seem to walk a very thin line between awesome and over-complicated, and that line is one I myself have yet to truly discern. I can only hope that I find that sweet spot as I move forward with this series, as creating weapons that are both original and functionally appealing is an exciting challenge!

Yeah, it's a very, very thin line to walk, when the design reaches that perfect balance, it makes it all the more worth it.

Also, just as a little sidenote, when you're designing a RWBY OC's weapon, try to make them fit their user's personality and if possible, make them work well with their Semblance.
