APS: Acronym of Автомат Подводный Специальный, was an underwater weapon developed and built during the decade of the 70`s as one of several anti-divers techniques of the Soviet Union (USSR), to serve as the main weapon of the units of military divers in the face of the growing threat of attacks on naval bases.
It was built mostly of corrosion-resistant stamped steel, and had a crude design similar to the Kalashnikov rifles.
Although it was an effective solution for submarine confrontations, the APS became incredibly ineffective when used on land, as it became quite inaccurate and its life was reduced from 2,000 shots underwater to only 180 shots on the ground.

Ammunition: 120x5.66mm (basically a harpoon powered by powder).
Capacity: 26 rounds.
Range: Short (depending on the depth).

desarrollada y construida durante la decada de los 70´ como una de las diversas técnicas anti-buzos de la Union Sovietica (URSS), para servir como el arma principal de las unidades de buzos militares ante la creciente amenaza de ataques a bases navales.
Estaba construida mayormente de acero estampado resistente a la corrosion, y poseia un diseño crudo similar a los fusiles de la familia Kaláshnikov.
Si bien era una solucion efectiva para enfrentamientos submarinos, el APS se volvia increiblemente inefectivo al ser utilizado en tierra, ya que se volvia bastante impreciso y su vida util se reducia de 2000 disparos debajo del agua a solo 180 disparos en tierra.
