A musically inspired image from me, what a rarity. If any of you haven't listened to Damien Rice, you are missing out. Anyway, this is the first official image I've made with Gimp 2.6 and I'm still getting used to all the new knobs and twiddly bits, plus the new lighting on this computer (everything is so bright!), so if things look a bit wonky that's why. Although, I had a lot of fun experimenting with this one, and I'm quite pleased with the end result.

This image is quite stunning. I consider myself lucky to have caught it on the new submissions page (usually I get either the nudes or the really, really bad doodles). The composition here is striking; the black border is subtle but very, very strong. The colors are very well chosen and the blending of the horse and background is flawless. The pose of the horse is well chosen and very emotive.
