Description
This is my project for my senior-level Digital Media 5 class, Fall 2010 semester.The assignment was to create an interface to explore a mashup of any kind. While some of my classmates chose mashup songs or videos, I chose a recent genre of fiction that combines literary classics with zombies, vampires and other monsters.
INSTRUCTIONS (if it's not clear):
-Click on an ingredient to view books with that genre.
-Some ingredients may be combined (i.e., vampire blood + Jane Austin perfume) to find books with those two elements.
-Click on the books to the right of the screen to view "recipes" for books - this may also be used to bypass the chemistry mixing system.
-On the page for individual book descriptions, you may use the petri dish to skip to other books you may enjoy. There is also a link to IndieBound where you may purchase the book from an independent bookstore near you!
Made with Flash CS5 and ActionScript 3.0 over the course of 3.5 months. All illustration and coding done by me (with help from my professor). A total of somewhere between 2000-3000 lines of code went into this project...not to mention my blood and tears
