When I extract the .zip, I don't see a .tar.gz file anywhere. I read your FAQ, and it said to move the .tar.gz into the .themes folder. How should I go about installing? Sorry, I am new to Ubanto.

same here i'm on Ubunto 8.10 and there's no pixmap for ubuntu.. there's only pixbuf (people ssays is the same as pixmap) and geramik that is a mod of pixmap...
i don't really know where to change the engine in source..i'm pretty noob at this..
BTW: from the screenshot it looks like a great theme <8

Woah I think I'll be using GAIA everywhere from now on, this is way better than the old one... ._.
And what's the chat application? I've never seen any that look even half that good or could be skinned

Yeah as josh said it's pidgin with the purple plugin pack. To learn how to skin pidgin see my faq : [link]

That's pidgin actually, with a couple plugins. Just search synaptic for pidgin plugin pack (I think it may have purple in the name, I don't remember) and you can use those plugins to hide the menu bar and status bar. As for the text color, check the Pidgin GTK+ Options plugin.

Will GAIA be on Openbox or is mostly restricted to windows, PekWM, GTk and Emerald?

fratrip In reply to InnovationFire [2008-09-30 20:07:40 +0000 UTC]
Well, I'm sure someone will want to port it openbox sooner or later. Maybe , who's the expert on openbox themes on linux Try asking him.
