I have thought of a 'Erik travels to our present' story (yes, you read well xD), but with no Mary-Sue thank you. I need him to be very dark and agressive, not a charming man at all, but appealing in a sinister way (it won't be based on the movie, the book or the musical exactly, it will be a personal mix).
Mmm... so I don't think I quite like this design, he looks too soft (specially the one on the right), too handsome, too... ¿Gerard Butler? xD I want him to look mean and not trustworthy. Maybe it's the eyes... His eyes are too beautiful, that's it. Or maybe it's just my paranoia.
In my story he would eventually come to live in some poor immigrant/marginal neighbourhood from any big city of Europe, where he's not frown upon because of his eccentricity, where everyone minds their own business. He would NEVER become a normal member of our society, not because he couldn't, but because he wouldn't want to.
This comic, if ever to be finished, is for you, DeviantArt people. So...What would you like to see in a POTO comic with Erik in our present? Romance? Fluff? Accion? Mystery? Supernatural? He adjusting or not adjusting at all? Parody? (for example Erik using the subway is quite a funny image lol) Would you like him living alone? with a family? in a flat? in a house? with a woman? with a prostitute? xD To be rich and succesful? Please feel free to make sugestions.

Cool idea, it's funny nce I thought about a comic book were the phantom would confront batman...I know XD Had ideas about making it very detective based with eric's lasso, references to lines from songs in the musical and so on...just an idea XD

Not to be a smart-ass or anything but you should NEVER ask your audience what kind of story they would like to see. Just tell the story you want to tell and you'll see if people like it or not.

Yeah, I just tend to agree with what Alan Moore says: "You should never give the audience what they want, because the audience don't know what they want...that's why they are the audience. The writer's job is to give their audience what they need, which is different from what they want."

I'd think it would be good as a parody/supernatural mix. That would be a really fun read, especiallly with your wonderful art.

I would love to give the story some parody parts, although I don't think it would fit into the whole comic since I want it to be very dark, but more like separate parts, you know, like in some serious manga comics where suddenly there's a page or a vignette parodying itself.
About the supernatural thing, it's something I really have to think about, because the time travel has to be explained somehow xD Although I don't really see Erik having superpowers or something.

Yaaayy!!! I have a hard time avoiding mary Sues because I simply don't know what Mary Sue are. People in forums are so harsh these days... Everything is Mary Sue for them that I'm not sure which one is a random flame and which one is REALLY a Sue-fic

When creating an original female character, it's just so damm easy to make it a Mary Sue! (prepare to read one hell of a long comment xDD)
The better way to avoid it, is making her ugly hahaha But then that's not what people wants, is it? There are some features that make a Mary Sue unmistakable (but doesn't always appear): an exotic name, strange coloring, a completely beautiful appearance (if she has some small flaw like a sexy scar, she's even MORE Mary Sue), a superior intelligence or magical powers, a strange skill to make every male character fall in love with her immediately... In general, the Mary Sue is a projection the authoress makes of herself, to kind of 'conquer' her favorite male character. You have to be truthful to yourself. Is your OC just an improved version of yourself? Is she doing in the story exactly what you would do if you were her?
Not all Mary Sues are equally recognizable, and sometimes they just need time to prove their not a MS. Eventually, the only thing I ask myself to make sure my OC is not a MS, is: The woman who likes the male character and is reading this, will she like the female OC or will she hate her? (if she's a Mary Sue, the reader will feel almost threatened, like when a very attractive woman appears in real life). Some people tolerates Mary Sues, and others just hate them (like me xD).

Hahahaha Erik living in some art school, now that's a good one! He would be the 'hot ghost director' xDD I dind't think of him becoming a teacher, but that would be very interesting!! He would be one hell of a hard teacher xD
Of course it will be mature content! hehehe Yeah, I suppose in the end the story will have a little bit of everything

Mmm today I thought it would be nice if the woman was older than Erik by I don't know maybe 10 years lol And I'm talking seriously here. He would be like 35 in my story, and a 45 years old woman can be very attractive. I think it's sexy if she's older than him and more experienced (he would be dark and unreachable anyway) hahahaha

Un pupilo, eh? Podría estar bien, no se me había ocurrido nada parecido. Poner a Erik de figura paterna para alguien... quizá un chaval huérfano o algo, alguien que despierte su lado más humano (quizá porque le recuerda a él mismo). Aunque el Erik de mi historia no sería un buen padre en absoluto xD Hay que pensarlo. Si se te ocurre alguna otra idea, ya sabes!

mmm sí, creo que ya entiendo lo que quieres decir. Mmmm, no lo veo muy claro porque meter a otro personaje masculino importante en la historia le podría quitar protagonismo a Erik (no quiero que se convierta en un cómic procesión de mis propios OCs xD No se si me explico. Me gustaría que hubiera muchos y carismáticos, pero que todos sean absolutamente secundarios). Aunque quizá es un riesgo que hay que tomar por huevos, porque no puede estar él solo en la historia jajaja Quizá algún chaval que lo conozca del vecindario y lo admire y lo moleste de vez en cuando (toques yaoi? jajaja). Tengo que hacer una lista con todos los personajes posibles y empezar a situarlos en el entorno de Erik. Seguiremos informando! jeje
