Description I was tired of just lurking, so I thought I would upload some pictures of my first Spyro sculpture.

I did this sculpture out of Crayola Model Magic about 6 years ago. It took me 45 minutes to sculpt, then I let it dry overnight. The next day I painted it with acrylic paints - again taking about 45 minutes.
Working with 'Model Magic' is difficult because as soon as air hits it, it begins to dry, which is why you see rough spots all over little Spyro.

Anyway, I'll be doing more sculptures as I get time.

He's 7 inches from nose to tail tip and 4 1/2 inches from his feet to the top of his wings.

I've wanted to try Model Magic for a while now, but I'm scared because it seems like an unforgiving sculpting compound. You did a great job sculpting him in a natural pose

Thanks! By the way, if you work quickly, and already have in your mind how you want it to look, then it's not too bad to work with. I will probably use it again for something a little less complicated, because it is lightweight, and dries overnight, and is easy to paint. Besides, it's pretty inexpensive, too.

Huzzah Spyro! I always found sculpting hard. Never was able to get the hang of it, buuut it's still fun to do.

Awesome job on the anatomy - it's amazing what you can do with a blob of clay and a few photo references of a character that isn't even real.
