Description
Woah, this pic turned out pretty big... o3oBut I'm happy with the results. The picture represents some semi-ancient simple chinese art of Skippy the Furret.
I enjoyed practicing photo-manipulation of the background texture. ^^
And sorry I didn't add any shadows... I got lazy on it... That's why I put it in the ScrapBook.
And you may notice that the lineart is a bit different. That's because I was also practicing making chinese-styled brushes. It worked!
Enjoy!

I never thought of my art as being Chinese influenced, but I DO love Chinese watercolors! Thank you.
And I really do love the line work and color on this piece - no way does it belong in scraps!

It was an attempt to make it look like ancient chinese art. Do you notice the textures and linearts?

yeah a bit but maybe if you get your hands on a better brush it will give better result , I would point you at one if I know a good one but I have seen some cool brushed around here and maybe if you look you'll find a good one to give a "brush" effect~

This one gives it a good "brush" effect. I just didn't use it correctly. Photoshop has too many functions and options.

Well, I have sensitively noticeable brushes, but they look a bit ridiculous.

okey then let see.. if u want it looks bit Chinese style you could go with bger size of a brush!! they use big brushes and the lines not always completed -bit cut off as the ink dries- sometimes bit messy -not always- and the coloring looks bit watercolors like and it goes out of the lines also not always completed!!
maybe this can be a good example [link] notice also the lines bit transparent but it's not always like that!!
think this is a good example for a digital work [link]
hope that helps~

Thanks, and I have all those brushes in Photoshop!
The first example is called a "wet media brush".
The second example is called a "natural brush".
