Strength and fragility, and proper love.
That is with a doubt the most emotional image I have come across on this site. Truly beautiful.

This is one of the best pictures on DeviantART I have ever seen. It's like an emotional trip really, of memories. My grandpa is paralyzed from the waist down, since about 2006, and his senior health care nurses come to visit him and they do these things with him. It's hard, with my grandma being there watching someone else take care of him. She feels that she should do everything because she's his wife and all. However, I really like the way this made me think. I really needed to see this picture today because my grandpa has had a recent bout with pneumonia and it doesn't look so good. This reminded me that family is the most important, and may be the only sacred thing a person can have while they're here on Earth, and I applaud you, for taking the picture, and the time with your family. I would fave this a hundred times over if I could.

I really think its well captured I love the expression on grandpa's face
One thing that i do not like that much though is that towel on the left. It is a disruption to me. Maybe crop the picture a little bit so the towel is not in the picture anymore?
But once again: well done

An excellent choice for a DD and a beautiful subject. I have been a neighbour and carer for both the ill and the elderly, and the heart it takes to keep smiling in the face of ceaseless deterioration full time is something I hugely admire.

I looked at this piece for a while, read some comments, and thought about my own grandparents and how my grandfather has been diagnosed with MS. He's handling it well, but this made me think about how some day he may very well need this kind of help to bathe, move around, ect.
And if I'm able to, I'll help him in any way possible.

Brought tears to my eyes, as it makes me think of all the elderly who don't have such kindness in their lives as to have someone take care of them and help them with daily life. It makes me miss my grandfather.. Thanks for bringing happy memories!

At this moment, this has become one of my most favourite pieces here on DeviantArt - and I've been here since forever. There are a lot of pieces that I've favourited that astound me from the techniques, colours, or the characters that are used, etc... this one has no words, no famous characters, no Photoshopped sun flares... it's just pure love. And it's not to say that the composition is bad, or the lighting lacks something - I'm just saying the technical side is irrelevant. The art is in the message. I mean, I do have a lot of favourites, but I favourite them because, well, I like them. They strike me as something I like to look at. The same motive doesn't apply here for the most part. I don't really know how to explain what I feel, and I think a lot of other commenters / favouriters can agree with me. I don't really want to say speechless, because I really do have a lot to say, more than this space can probably handle. I favourite this because it's beautiful, and it gives you this feeling that you wished there was more of this, and less of the bad stuff. It really is a Deviant that deserves a DD because it's a hope that everyone wants to see, and wants to experience and feel. I could post a lot more, but I think I'll just sit here and smile.

This photo's amazing! It's chaste, and it's real life! So much contrast, between the two. Even if the younger gentleman, didn't have the ink, there'd be obvious contrast. But the ink, just adds more appeal. Photo's like this, are completely enthralling, to me! Great job!

...i just read your blurb about how this image may rub some people the wrong way...well, i have to say that if anyone has grandparents or plans on living into their golden years (whether they make it there or not is another subject altogether), then they should realize that it's something we'll all have to face in the future, if we're lucky...
...you spirit of intent for this image came through instantly to me and i applaud you for sharing such a personal and serious occasion with us...there's nothing wrong with this picture at all, as a matter of fact it's downright cute...and this is what love is all about and SHOULD BE seen as: people caring for those they appreciate and who need their love...
...from birth to burial, we should all keep in mind that selflessness should be something popular and that assisting those in need (especially serious need) should be second nature and be performed without a second thought...
...thanks again bro...

The bit where it says Daily Deviation is my blurb. The Artist's Comments section is the artists blurb.
The image, of course, is not mine.

A true family the young helping the old. Not to mention just the beauty of the sweetness....I sound like so but your very lucky.

Even being such a simple shot -- nothing fancy, no light effctsof photoshopping, just a photo -- it speaks really loudly how much love can be exchanged between people as humans. One of my friends does this sort of thing for her grandmother, and i think it is the sweetest thing -- doing something like this when the person cannot do it for themselves is one of the most endearing features of a true servant, someone who is truly loving the person who they are helping. This is beautiful. I don't care about anything that some people might say about the quality of the photo or the fact that it isn't DA norm, this is beautiful. God Bless you guys.

Powerful and touching. I'm adding to my favorites as a reminder of what I need to remember every day. Its not the mechanics of giving care that's important, it is how that care touches the one being cared for.
Oh how great it is to be loved by others. This photo is a shining example of that.

My brother had a Grand Mal seizure when he was three, and now he can't talk, walk, or eat on his own. Every day, a nurse comes to our house to take care of him so my parents can go to work and I can go to school.
These caretakers, family or otherwise, have their heads on straight. They know what matters. They choose to love people whom others would rather ignore because of some ill-conceived definition of beauty or humanity or worth.
If you want to know the true definition of love, look no further. This is it, right here. This lifestyle of self-sacrifice is truly an honorable one, and something worthy of being inspired by. =FreakyLaurent , your image helps bring to light these hidden heroes I hold in such high regard, and for that I am extremely grateful. This is truly a well-deserved DD.

I'm gonna use a word that's over-used in the world today and isn't really taken to really, truly mean it's real, true meaning: appreciate.
I APPRECIATE this photo. And I APPRECIATE people who care for the elderly and unable, and I can only hope to be the same type of person some day.

This is a beautiful photo. It's beautiful for the sadness of old age, the pain of knowing that you might not have too much time left with the person you love; but also for the love and devotion shown here.
I had an aunt who like a second mother to me, and I remember that I always had to help her go to the bathroom when she lived with us as she got older, and my mom and I had to give her baths because she couldn't do them herself. It sickens me that some children/grandchildren/nieces/nephews will just shy away from or abandon their elderly family members, and so this picture especially hits home for me because the grandson seems to utterly unbothered by having to help his grandfather with such a seemingly easy task of bathing himself.
Great job on this, honestly. I think it's a beautiful photograph with a lot of emotion shown within it. :]
