Love the contrasting light and dark yellows. The little girl emits such innocence and the alien gives off a mysterious and dark feel.... this is such an amazing piece, love the story it tells

Wow, the contrast between the coloresof the picture is big but you blended everything so perfectly it looks natural. and the detail and Design of the ET is amazing. Beutiful but unerving. I love the firefly like ltes flouting around them, it gives it a wimsical fairy type feel along with the blatent Sci-Fi concept.
All in all, agourgeous work of art, I can see why it got so far in such a pig contest

When I was a child one of my favourite song was about a giant who entered a village. Everyone was frightened and ran inside, locked the doors and brought the kids to bed. And suddenly when the giant was already too close, they found one child was left behind. Nobody had the courage to go outside and get it, so they prayed but soon lost all hope as they thought the child would never survive. When the giant came towards the child (in my imagination it always was a little girl of 6 or 7) she was not scared of him but came towards him singing her favourite song: "Giants are not even half as big, but only long-stretched dwarfs". The giant started laughing and dancing to the song and from that day on he and the girl were friends.
For some reason your picture reminded me of that song and I could imagine the same thing happening to the alien and the girl. They both don't look scared or angry but curious and as curiosity is the key to all understanding they might become freinds.... Beautiful work.

Aww! Personally I see this as pretty touching: the alien's very first encounter with a human is a little innocent girl who clearly isn't afraid of it. So many possable other interpretations.
