Description
Here's my version of Arcee. Now i know that it's far from the very feminine and sexy looking version of the classic but i tried to maintain her essence while giving her a modern form. Her vehicle form is the Mazda RX-8. If you take a closer look, i made Arcee more of a ninja and gave her twin daggers or kunai and she has small shoulder mounted guns. Please ask permission if youβre going to use my images in your webpage, forum, blog and provide the link back to this page. No, not really since i can't and don't see a suitable role for her in my Transformers Regeneration universe that would maximize the character's potential.

You're not a fan of her being a love interest for Optimus?Β Because that's one of the reasons I like her very much.

Because if that's your main reason why you like the character and her only noteworthy and identifiable trait then she isn't worth the screen time. I don't put characters in my universe just because she's the love interest of this character, the son/daughter of this character or whatever relations that they might had because if i'm going to insert them in my universe, they have to have a functional role in that universe, that doesn't rely on just having a close relationship to a certain or particular character. If that is the only noteworthy reason why that character exists then that character is shallow and not good at all in terms of character development and progression. By that reasoning alone you're implying that her character's worth is only as good if she's paired with Optimus Prime or if Optimus is around, that she can't stand on her own two feet and be a worthy character in her own right and merits.

Arcee in your style looks like she could be from the Alternators branch of Transformers stuff, Frederick. But that's what makes it cool if you ask me

A lot of deviants have pointed me that fact. Thanks for the compliment.
I didn't have any conceived ideas regarding Arcee, other than make my design of her the best that i could come up with. Something that doesn't put her into this box of that "Autobot chick" and instead treats her seriously as a character.
I haven't read any of the IDW stories or seen the Alternator toyline before i did my Arcee design so if it makes TF fans sit up and notice then great!
Thanks for adding her to your DA faves. Be sure to check out and support my Facebook page.

By the way, hope that you don't mind me asking this but can you post your thoughts regarding my DA journal entry? Again thank you.

I like her because she is close enough to G1 version (not a bike)... and the Mazda fits her well, but is realistic and believable, not a futuristic Cybertronian "landspeeder". This is an alternate mode that could be perfect on Earth's streets. The blades are a nice idea too.

I just wanted to project an image of Arcee that is not feminine and is different from the "Princess Leia" leanings of the animated movie and the series. This is an Autobot warrior who can kick @$$ yet retains her femininity. And also i just like the Fast and Furious franchise too. I want Arcee to "drift" with the big boys.
Just a favor, i know that i asked you this before but can you please post on my DA journal entry? I would like to hear your thoughts and opinions regarding the topic and see if what most people say about certain adaptations are what they say they are or not. Thank you.

Who is Drift? And this design is my interpretation of Generation One Arcee.

I see what you mean but no this isn't Drift. This is Arcee, my interpretation. I can see why you thought that way, what with the shoulder pads but no.
When i was doing this design, i was only aware of the G1 version. I only learned about Animated and Prime Arcee much later, hence this final design right here.
So what do you think of it, besides being slightly similar to "Drift"? Surely you like it for something.

oh of course, the pics good. its got the whole pretty and pretty deadly thing going. its a pretty good concept. im usually not one for arcee being bulky but it works good here.
what really made me think of drift when i saw your pic were the doors on the hips, which he has to store his blades.

frederickofolympus In reply to tritie [2013-06-19 07:16:13 +0000 UTC]
Oh that. I didn't want to do the old "shortcut" style of the classic cartoon where when they are in robot/mecha mode, the wheels are gone. I really want to reflect her transformation mode and not "cheat" on details like doors, wheels, hood cover, roof and etc. I want to illustrate it the way the old Transformers box toyart looks, meaning what they exactly look in toy form. What you see in the boxart is what you get in toy form.
As for the doors on the hips, we've seen how Jazz, Prowl, Bluestreak and Smokescreen have the doors spread behind their back like wings look and i don't want to repeat that with Arcee. When i did Arcee, all i knew was the classic G1 version. The Animated and Prime version i later learned while i was in the process of making this design. I didn't even know there was a character named Drift.
Thanks for liking my Arcee design. So anyone else did you like in my gallery and what do you think of my original character designs like Stinger, Detour, Torque, Slipstream, Vanquish Prime and Sentinel Prime? Some of my watchers like Detour, Torque, Sentinel Prime and most especially Vanquish Prime so i'd like to know what you think.

frederickofolympus In reply to tritie [2013-06-19 15:16:25 +0000 UTC]
Thank you. And that's the whole point on why i did this gallery in this first place. I know a lot of Transformers fans have their particular favorite series but to me it all goes back to Generation One, the classic animated series that started this phenomenon. Without that, you won't have the Michael Bayverse movies, Energon, Armada, Cybertron, Animated, Prime, the comicbooks and etc.
I wanted to show that the Generation One universe and concept can be made cool and modern and hopefully with my original concept characters like Torque, Stinger, Detour, Slipstream, Vanquish Prime and Sentinel Prime, you'll still get that G1 vibe and feel to them even if i just designed them and that they weren't part of the original series toyline.
The fact that you like them even if they were my original creations is a big compliment. And for you to say that they have this very G1 vibe but with a cool, new and modern twist means a lot. Again, my thanks.
Do post some comments on the characters that you dig, ok? It helps me to know what people like about my stuff and what needs to be improved.

Yup. I think it's a pink sport bike, kinda like the Michael Bay and Transformers Prime version.
Well, if they would hire me at Hasbro or i get to work for them, i would gladly do that design.
To tell you the truth, it's really a challenge creatively to come up with cool and fitting designs for the Transformers characters that i set out to do. Sometimes the inspiration comes pretty quickly, like snapping your fingers, other times you scratch your brain and it takes a while to really nail it. It depends and varies. With Arcee, it was a challenge at first but i really wanted to make her a cool alternate mode because i do like the character and am glad that you like it.Thanks for faving and supporting my stuff.
What else do you dig about my Arcee design?

it captures the spirit of the original while adding an altornator-ish touch while on being the same. and the color layout for car mode is what sold me. its like putting g1 skyquake's colors on a lancer jet, or breakdown's colors on a ferrari. it just looks awesome.

Thanks for the kind words. They think that it's easy to make a Transformer character cool while at the same time keeping their core essence but actually it's not. It's a tight balancing act. You want to come up with a design to make that character cool and distinct while at the same time retain the elements that define the character so yeah it's a lot of work. You want to make it modern and move it forward but at the same time pay homage to it's roots and keep it's core essence intact.
So what do you think of my Sentinel Prime design?

Ah, well, actually I don't like G1 Arcee very much, what with her being pink and not doing too much (as far as i can tell), so it's that your depiction isn't focused on her being feminine and sexy that I like it.
