Description
Kimiko, co-pilot of the Save Point, has been haunted by a ghost since they took heavy damage in a previous mission. Roughed up in a more recent mission, Kimiko finds that she's even becoming numb to actual physical damage to herself... so why is Asako, a crewmate she watched be torn from the plane through the bombbay when an entire rack of bombs sheared loose, haunting her?Sorry, i started into story mode there.
I'm still saving that, but it was kind of an interesting drawing, and color brought it out well, i think.

I am starting to think of Save Point as the Muv Luv Alternative version of Megatokyo. Asako is thoroughly in character here.

Well crap, she came up short in the digit check. You can really see Kimiko's growing sense of depression here, a sense of disconnection with her surroundings as her mind falls apart.
Were this any kind of sane outfit, she'd be sent home and given long-term psychiatric care. Since it isn't, she'll be sent up until her state of mind causes her to make a fatal error.

So many questions! Such a difficult drawing to unpack, especially with the hint of backstory. Anyway, main thing: she may be a ghost but I still like Asako. Also loving Kimi's floppy arm warmers to replace the floppy schoolgirl socks her alter ego wears.
All those piercings and tattoos though - is she part of a mercenary company? Well I guess we'll find out sooner or later...
p.s. "sheared loose" maybe? Gives a new edge to the Asako / Strangelove image though.

Yes, "sheared" loose in a mission where the Save Point was heavily damaged. And yes, she was pulled out with a whole rack of bombs, so... yes, you are indeed seeing an appropriate association with the Strangelove image

This is a hell of an image, Fred. There's a lot to unpack here. I have to say, I am continually intrigued by the Save Point series of images.
