Description It was later in the evening; just after dinner, just before the BLU prisoners were mandated to return to their quarters for final roll-call and lights-out.
The BLU Engineer had told Private only yesterday of his guitar that RED had confiscated during his capture, and already the rookie soldier had returned it. The Engineer decided that best way to thank him would be riffing a song as the sun overhead started to set.

"I frickin' knew it..." Lieutenant grumbled. He tightened his grab on the tree stump, a angry grimace growing on his face. "That worthless bastard traitor!" The frown drooped before turning into a grin. He had a quiet laugh before sneaking off.

Sargent sighed, shaking his head. "I can't believe it..." He turned to Lieutenant. "You're sure?"
"Affirmative!" the soldier answered "I saw it with my own eye, sir."
Sargent turned away. "No, even Private would know better then to-"
"And you're surprised by this?!" Lieutenant asked "That stoner isn't cut out for war!"
"That is enough."
"I mean, c'mon! You said so yourself when we found him, he was high as a kite outta his mind!"
"I said that's enough, soldier!!"
Lieutenant looked up from under his helmet at his commander. Sargent prided himself on maintaining a calm sense of authority and, at the moment, he looked anything but.
"L-Look, uh, sir, we can just kill the guy. No one'll know. No one'll care! He's just some drug addict! He doesn't have a family... probably..."
"Lieutenant." Sargent spoke through his teeth. "We will not now nor will we ever take a fellow RED's life. Ever. And we are not killing those BLU's. They are still abiding by our rules. If the BLUs were planning on using Private to escape, they wouldn't have stuck around long enough to catch the three of them together."
"So, we're just gonna let Private betray us?!"
Sargent groaned "Private doesn't have the brains to betray us! As far as I'm concerned, if Private wants to associate with the enemy, we'll at least know who he's dealing with." Sargent leaned forward "And I expect this little secret to be just between us or. God willing, I will shove that idiotic viking helmet so far up your ass, the horns will be coming out out our mouth, do you hear me soldier?!"
Lieutenant snapped at attention "Sir, yes, sir!

I made this pic so I could write this story.

I wrote this story because even though my Dad has no idea who these characters are or what TF2 is about, he still looks at them and commented on them and made me happy.

My friend Howard DeVore spent part of his time in WWII guarding German POW's in Alabama (or was it Mississippi? Either place not known for civilization) He mentioned how the German POW doctor was assigned to treat everyone at camp. Howard was stationed as a medic there, but the only thing he know was how to use medicinal (raw) alcohol.... So this story is a lot like Howard's -- friendships across enemy lines.

You seem to know a lot of interesting people. Sadly, I can only invent such folk. Still, that story gave me an idea. I'll let you know.
