Description

Cairo:
a frosty breeze promising snowfall passed through the trees as Cairo wandered around through the forest. He had been away from his family and the herd he was born in for a few weeks now. The foalless silence was peaceful and the stallion refused to entertain the nagging feeling of loneliness, contributing the unease to boredom instead.
Cairo decided to deal with his ‘boredom’ the way he knew worked best. He found a big tree that would -at least partially- shield him from the sight of predators, laid down and took a nap. As his consciousness drifted away, snowflakes started falling.
Suddenly the stallion woke at the sound of something approaching. It was pitchblack around him. As he lifted his head, a thick layer of snow fell off his face and allowed him to be blinded by the now white world around him. His sleepy mind slowly realized that he had been snowed under.

Glass:
It was cold, too cold. Especially for Glass. His coat was now fluffy with winter protection but the chill sank to his bones. It brought all too visceral memories of the months of pain that accompanied his birth. He did always get a chill on eve’s before colder days, his mother often told him it was due to his weak start.
Gods, he missed his mother. She was always a warm presence he could turn to during weather that rattled him, but now he was on his own. He trudged on ever faithfully, wearing thinner as snow began to fall and coat the top of his body.
Eventually, something new began to garner his attention. It was a broken branch, something his very limited years of experience could only be made by an animal with the weight to break it. He sniffed at it, nudging it as if it would give more information than he could see. With his body tilted over to investigate he missed the head rising out of the snow, his ears twitching in recognition before his mind followed. Glass shrieked, head whirling to the side of him as he jumped away, landing down feet away from the other stallion.

Cairo:
Cairo whipped his head towards the shrieking sound followed by a loud thud. Standing a few feet away was a dark red horse looking at him with big shocked eyes. For a second Cairo stared back, confused what the shock was for. He saw the blanket of snow laying over his own body and slowly realized what had happened.   ‘..hi’, he said, letting out a chuckle before he calmly stretched his legs, stood up and shook off the snow.
Then he turned towards the other stallion again, making sure his body language was non-threatening. ‘so…. whassup?’.
