I am absolutely blown away by the positive response to this piece. I did this almost 5 years ago and not much fanfare except for the print that hangs on my sons wall. Thanks to "DobbyKnits" for the shout out.
BTW, Form-Z it a industrial design/engineering 3D program. Allot like Maya, 3D Max etc... but minus the animation capabilities. I dont use it any more since ive moved on to Maya.

Is it irony to love this image yet wish the toys were actually available to purchase and collect?

While art is a wholly objective means of expression, this work is unequivocally flawless!
The image is so well executed that it could easily be mistaken as a photograph. The individual robots are marvelously unique and fascinating and the slogan emblazoned on their packages is a riot. (If I could, I would collect them!)
And perhaps best of all, the message conveyed by the image is funny, poignant, thought-provoking and inspirational - all without having the saccharine-like sweetness portrayed in images such as the infamous "kitty-hanging-from-tree-limb" poster.
A flat-out masterpiece!!!
