I am absolutely blown away by the positive response to this piece. I did this almost 5 years ago and not much fanfare except for the print that hangs on my sons wall. Thanks to "DobbyKnits" for the shout out.
BTW, Form-Z it a industrial design/engineering 3D program. Allot like Maya, 3D Max etc... but minus the animation capabilities. I dont use it any more since ive moved on to Maya.

Something looks not quite natural enough, and I think it's that the toys at the back of the rows aren't dark enough (plus, the robots seem to just float in their cases). Aside from that, it's cute, and very well made. And the slogans on the cards are indeed great!

Maybe the red robot is re-creating that scene from "The Matrix" where Neo finally breaks free of the illusionary life he led, and the prison he's really in.

this goes down as one of my favorite deviations EVER. i really mean that to, i don't say it often. to start, this is perfectly rendered....looks photorealistic, but still has the charm of animation. the lighting is absolutely perfect...the dark gives the shot a sense that the robot is sneaking out while the store was closed. the robots are works of art individually...very creative and definitely unique. the package design also cracked me up. overall, i feel like im watching an entire movie when i look at "tonka takes a holiday". great work!
