I do love the sand stone, it has so much history, not only in its layers but in the carvings in it. It is fun to look way up and see peoples names carved in the stone from 20 or more years ago. It is a catch 22 though because they are distroying the natural beauty of the stone but I guess whats done is done

Yeah, sandstone is a very nice rock to look at. Really interesting structure too. But yes, people scratching stuff into it really doesn't help the erosion problem. Nature really doesn't need a helping hand with that. But as you said, what's done is done.
