Interesting that you say the tears were painted just to cover up the 'globs' of the previous painting. It's that sort of happy accident that so often makes a painting. There are lovely textures in this one and beautiful brushwork. A striking portrait.

I no longer use texture when I paint because I often re-use the canvas. This is probably one reason why your work impresses me so much.

acrylics.
It was painted over the top of another failed oil painting of mine and some of the texture is a distraction. The tears are only there to justify the little globs of oil paint beneath.

well, me too. i think it is a great piece, the light on face, body and clothing is just perfectly done, just as her expression and pose. choice of colours for clothing and background very much to the sensual touch of the painting. beautiful work and
