The Slingshot Self-Propelled Surface-to-Air Missile System is an armoured Salamander chassis (based on the Crusader) equiped with aself contained tracking and launcher unit for the FDI Aerospace Snake SRSAM. 12 missiles are carried, effective against all aircraft types within a range of 10km, as well as providing missile defence.

The Slingshot operates alongside Spitfire SPAAGs, providing mutual cover and back-up tracking. Carrying only missiles, the Slingshots are more vulnurable than most Freestian armoured vehicles, and are generally heavily escorted unless deployed on already established bases.
