I think this one is my favorite of my weekend of Danny Phantom crazies.This scene takes place in the sequal to Mind of a Hero, Role Reversal. Danny is reading a letter from Vlad. I chose to have him sitting on the cot that is in his room for the Christmas holidays while Vlad and Madison are visiting.
While working on this, and using reference I had on my computer of Danny's room... I can't help but think that maybe he wouldn't be so angsty if he used some other color scheme... Look at all that blue! *snort*

I think blue is supposed to be a calming colour or it makes you feel colder or something like that. Oh and I LUFS the plushie danny! So cute!

All colors have positive and negative connotations. Blue can be calming, cold, refreshing, depressing... it depends on it's shade and usage.

I keep getting the urge to feed Danny a sandwich. He looked like he will fall over in a strong gust of wind.

I like blue too, but not jail house blue of doom, which is what Danny's got.
The idea of Danny falling over in a gust of wind makes me giggle, and I'm sure his being half ghost wouldn't do a thing to help weigh him down.

Depends on what shade of blue. A nice teal or aqua or pale sky blue is nice. Danny's room is a gloomy gray-blue.

I find the expression in Danny's eyes particularly striking- the startlement and realization as he absorbs the letter's contents.

Danny's room looks like a jail cell. It's horrible. No wonder the kid (now the adult) is emo all the time.
It not only looks like a jail cell, but from pics I studied while doing this, parts of the wall are brick (and some wood panneling), and makes no sense. The brick bits are near his bed, and his bed looks like it's made from bars as well. I sincerly doubt that he bought the bed and painted the room himself, so I wonder which was responsible for that? I'm gonna say Maddie because it matches her hazmat suit.

It's a nice update of his t-shirt. Older, slightly sophisticated, and a bit metro. (That side of him is just clawing to get out and it will when he has Vlad's credit cards.)
I think the size of the room varies from episode to episode, along with some of the specifics. But it's always blue and depressing. The monochrome is probably just a stylistic thing that the animators wanted to do- but so many other areas are in full color! DP scenes flip between stylistic coloring and realistic coloring.

::wince:: I keep it kicking around for nostolgia. And that people like it- seems a bit mean of me to take it down under those circumstances. I wrote "Love Potion HP" in 2002. I was seventeen at the time. "The Consequences of Love" was written in 2005 and is much, much better.

CBtC is where the Crack doesn't just jump the shark, it beats it senseless. Pieces of it were actually posted before the Crack. I don't really hide how the Crack ends. The big mystery is how it gets to that ending.
