Description
Another experiment...with a lot of splashing colours and charcoal. The idea behind that wasn't to get the right anatomy or proportion, just to characterize.Related content

Excellence...loving the "splash: appeal of all the colors

Thanks a lot! The work developed a bit further since I posted it here; the left side is a bit darker/greyish now, and the guy himself changed a bit again, too...but I didn't wanted to update it.

Hmm...in hindsight that sounds good about the darker left side. It'll give the overall image more balance in that regard and keep the viewers eye from wandering off to the whitest part of the piece

I like this. The color splashes are very lively and the character looks interesting. The only problem I see is I think the goggles are too narrow for his eyes.

Thank you, also for your feedback! The work still changed a bit after uploading this (I actually called it finished, but resumed it after the holidays again), also I don't know if I really want to update it. I'm not quite sure if I changed the goggles again (currently I don't have the work at home), but I darkened the shadows and did some other things to, like setting his shoulders higher and working out the throat.

At least don't upload over this if you decide to post an updated version. Otherwise people can't compare them. This isn't bad, so even if you managed to make it even better, it would be a shame to lose this version.

Yeah, I also thought uploading it separate as a second version if I want to show it. It's also nice for me to keep the older version.

Although the splashing is stylistic, the expression on the face may have been more suitable with the narrow eye toward the splashing.. I still think it works well enough though

Makes me think the man is a tad crazy, with the colors all over the place and mixed up. Β But then again, the other side has nice neat droplets, so I'm going to say this man suffers for bipolar or another mental condition.

Well, I wanted to draw a crazy (within the range of sane) guy, but maybe I underestimated him and in craziness he turned bipolar? It's in the eye of the beholder, I guess.
