Description
A Pre-Renaissance inspired, two dimensional rendering of the European folktale, The Blood Brothers. In short, a humble fishermen is granted the wish of a child for turning a fish loose. Two twin boys, twin dogs and twin colts result from the wife eating the flesh of the fish, the dog consuming the insides and the horse devouring the bones. With time the older brother becomes restless and sets out into the world in search of adventure. He leaves his younger twin with a flask of white wine claiming, "All will be well with me as long as this wine is white. But if it ever turns red, I will be in need of your help". The symbiotic relationship between the twins is exemplified in the implied Eastern yin-yang symbol.
