Description
Has similar features as Dynamix uTorrent :
*Displays up to 20 mails
*Already-read mails won't show up anymore (doesn't need refreshing)
*Dimensions of the drop-down list will adjust to the number of mails
*Very easy to set up
How to make it work:
1. Open Gmail.ini file
2. You should see "Enter username and password here" at the top (17th line)
3. Username is the part before @ sign in your Gmail address
4. Password is the same password you use for logging into your Gmail account
5. Save, exit the Gmail.ini file and load the skin through Rainmeter
The advanced coding started on =poiru 's Gnometer skin, he is the author of the base code and design. The design was modified more in the area of overall look/feel. Dimensions (i.e. spacing, sizes, positions) are mostly all his design.

Hello
Great work, thank you but I have a little problem, i installed it and do what you have told me above on how to make it work and my gmail on my desktop it doesn't display any new email even though i have lots of new email which i have checked in my account. By the way the password and email are you meant to put it within the hash tags or get rid of them and then put my pass and email in. Please help me.

I've managed to figure it out, and it's working perfectly now, i should have removed the hash-tags which i have done now.

What hash-tags did you remove to get this skin to work?

Hey, this is outstanding work!!! Exactly what I wanted to find.
I am currently working on a rainmeter taskbar of my own. Can I use your skin (with modified design) in my taskbar? No need to write the same thing myself, when you have already done such an outstanding job, really. I would credit you and stuff. If you want, I can send you a beta version of my taskbar, just so you get the idea.
Thank you, Charlie.

Awesome man, thanks for the reply!
I made it .zip & then unzipped it and it worked. Looks great.
Just one question: how often does it check for new mail? From what I can tell, it doesn't check very often imo. How can I change it? Do I alter the update rate?

Fresh-Grass In reply to RoseSt [2010-07-08 06:50:31 +0000 UTC]
I wouldn't alter update rate too much. It's possible that Gmail (or any other website for that matter) might block you if you constantly connect to it. It's similar to pinging some servers. Even e-mail software (live mail and such) checks only every few minutes.
Just don't alter it too much, it's already set to 5 minutes, I think
Just so that I'm sure that you're not changing the wrong number:
[Rainmeter]
Update=1000 //Update rate of the skin itself in milliseconds. Leave this as it is.
[ParsedData]
UpdateRate=300 //Update rate of parsing from a website - 300 times skin's rate, that's 300 seconds. Change this slightly.

Hi, yeah I am having the same problem as RoseSt... I am using version 1.2 of Rainmeter... just downloaded and installed it so should be the latest build. But when I try t install either Dynamix: uTorrent or Dynamix: Gmail... I get "'Dynamix' must be installed in order to continue"...

Try now, I reuploaded the file, I think it was probably corrupted. My upload connection is really sh**ty.
If it still gives you the same error, change .rmskin extension to .zip and extract the skin. I just did that now with the same file and no file inside it was corrupted.

When I try to install it gives an error and says: 'Dynamix' must be installed in order to continue.
Do you know what's wrong?
Cheers!

looks great, you should release an entire theme in this style ;D
little suggestion, maybe the Gmail icon could colorize when you hover over it or when the window is active or something, maybe that goes against the minimalistic monochrome look , but just a thought when trying out the skin
great work

Click to open the image.
Here is the rollover that I had in mind - notice two lines at each side and light-blue shine at the bottom. It is identical to the rollover you get on Win7 when you put mouse over pinned, but closed programs.
It was set-up very "hardcoded"-ly, meaning that modifying it requires quite some work, meaning that I won't include this feature unless I figure out how to printscreen Win7 taskbar as completely transparent (even taskbar itself can't be set to be completely transparent).

I tried different colors already with uTorrent skin and it doesn't look good in front of wide variety of wallpapers.
But I'll try to do some other highlight of sorts, I have something cool in mind
About the entire pack in this style... I have other "projects" besides Rainmeter too, that are more important to me at the moment, so don't be disappointed if I won't be releasing Dynamix pack anytime soon.
You have to know that I never intended to create a good-looking style, my goal was just to write a code for ultimate uTorrent and Gmail skin, which can be used by real Rainmeter designers for their own skin-packs.
