I don't really know where the idea came from. I just felt sad for Saren. All of a sudden.
Was there a way to save him? Not really. But I feel like it's all right to dream. Is it?

He was definitely a tragic villain.Β I like the idea of saving/redeeming Saren.Β In my fanfics even death doesn't stop him from making a difference in the war against the Reapers as he is given a second chance by something, someone, he never expected.

I always kind of had a minor crush on Saren. It was a Foe Yay thing. >.> Sadly, I don't think he could have been saved.

I think that you are right.
Within the canon there was no way to save him, that's true.
But. Let's imagine that there was a way for him to survive the Sovereign's attack on the Citadel.
He could have lived about two next years imprisoned somewhere. Why not? Sovereign was dead. The reapers were busy with Shepard, so they was not interested in some broken and weakened former ally. And then Shepard could have chosen Blue or Green. Then I suppose that wouldn't have mattered that Saren had been indoctrinated and had had all the implants. He would have had a chance to survive.
Fabulously, but I like to think this way.

To be true, I have to correct you... a little. On the right you see a human woman in full armour, on the left there is a living creature too, though alien. Who has a lot of implants, so here you're almost right.
