Description This is a picture of my youngest son and daughter. They hadn't seen each other for about 18 years, but fortunately are becoming good friend. This is in New York City where my son lives. I'm very proud of both of them as I am with all my children.
I used soft pastel on Colourfix paper.

Bueno, no me da mucho orgullo haber tenido mas que un matrimonio. Estoy con mi tercera esposa y esta vez hicimos bien, Dios quiera. Mi esposa ha tenido tres operaciones en su espalda de 21 horas en total. Han soldado todas sus vertebras, con dos fierros a los costados. Ella esta muy bien ahora, conciderando todo. Espero que todo este bien contigo y siempre te escribo con tu permision.

I've looked at this a couple different times trying to come up with a more insightful comment than "that's so cute," but I'd rather leave you with something than nothing.

you work really well from pictures they keep a unique quality that makes them identifiable as photos, but your emotional connection to the subjects really makes them look as if they're right in front of you.

When I went to school, a hundred years ago, there were those who frowned on painting from photos. I've always looked at it that many greats used them, so it never has been a problem with me. I'm happy that you could see that quality in them and yet see that I try to take it beyond. I always appreciate your eye and input, thank you.

I'm familiar with the "don't paint from photos" approach, but honestly i think it's more what you make of it. the successful ones always break the rules
