Do you happen to believe in the rumor that Zim and Gaz supposedly teamed up at the end and conquered Earth?

TherealRNO In reply to Vult108 [2014-03-30 21:59:14 +0000 UTC]

It's not rumor. Head writer Eric Trueheart had said that it was going to happen in the "Invader Dib" finale, so make of that what you will.

(First, sorry, my English is horrible) Definitively I don't believe it. This it is my version of a drawing done by Jackfreak1994 ( jackfreak1994.deviantart.com/g…), in which is a wedding between Zim and Gaz. This drawing was for me very nice, but very fictitious, in my point of view because the Zim's and Gaz's personalities are not able to do a wedding like that. Then I placed this situation as a fantasy of Zim's conquest, in which Zim has conquered the Earth and took Gaz as prisioner. He is in outer space and see Gaz as something like one slave and Gir see curious a ring. It is a reference to the social convention of the Earth on the weddings.

In conclusion I believe in the union of Gaz and Zim, maybe as a fantasy of conquest (in many senses and on many things) of Zim

(Don't worry, your English is fine.)

I agree with the notion of the two's personalities, though similar with destructive intent, would be very difficult to find compatibility with one another. And...I think that Gaz would probably beat Zim up into a pulp before she ever  becomes his slave.

However, I really do enjoy your take on this pairing, and your picture came out very lovely.

Thanks so much Vult108 . I have too that idea on Gaz in this situation. But it could be also the TherealRNO's comment, because I only saw the first six  Invader Zim´s chapters.

Then, from my point of view, based in the few seen chapters and my knowledge in storys´s composition (I study german literature). I think that is complicated to make this couple.

I hope that you get around to watching the rest of Invader Zim's chapters/episodes. If you like its (quoting the creator) "cruel, sarcastic, and violent" sense of humor, I think you will really enjoy it.

And yes, I would expect ZAGR to be quite a complicated couple to work with; that is why I do prefer that these two remain close yet stay at a platonic level. Then again, maybe if the series had continued then....who knows?

And German literature, eh?

She's not becoming his slave. Consort =/= slave. Besides, since even ZIM fears her, Gaz would be the first female "human" (she's a clone experiment [just as with Dib, who would discover that he's a clone of the kids' "father", Professor Membrane] with demonic powers, so she's not fully human) to have the entire Irken army at her command after the last battle, in which ZIM - with help from Gaz, plus Skoodge, Larb, Zita, and Tenn (Tenn would be the rescued by the rest after she was captured) - banished the remainder of Dib's forces - composed of a vengeful Tak (incensed that her fellow Irkens would leave her stranded after failing to rob ZIM of his dignity during the reign of the incompetent and biased Tallest Red and Tallest Purple), the combined might of the Resisty and the formerly unseen Meekrob, and Dib himself - to the desolate corners of remote planet Saturn.

Sorry, my eEnglish is horrible and I can´t  express myself well. Also I have watched only the first six Invader Zim´s chapters. Then I don't know the sufficient things for to accept easily this end

In other words, though romance makes JV "ill to [his] ill-prone belly", it exists in his work nonetheless and per head writer Eric Trueheart, it was going to happen with Invader ZIM in the finale, where ZIM ends up becoming the unsung hero who saved the Irken race from extinction and Gaz would join ZIM, because she would have no family left, because Dib would be banished, Professor Membrane is absent enough as is, there is no mother figure to speak of, and the rest of humanity is too ignorant and stupid to be left to their own devices (in effect, they're asking to be destroyed and/or conquered).

TherealRNO In reply to FreyaCaudaPavonis [2014-03-31 01:50:14 +0000 UTC]

It's okay. Jhonen Vasquez himself is the creator and yet he himself distrusts the potential for romance in his work as well, yet in Johnny the Homicidal Maniac, the title character of Johnny (Nny for short) has a girl named Devi who seems smitten with him. Even so, due to JV's twisted mind, he's had it so that Nny actually tries to kill Devi, but Devi's love for Nny endures despite this. The same is for Gaz and ZIM, because ZIM's ego would not let him to see himself as inferior to the human species, yet Gaz has shown herself to be every bit of ZIM's equal, if not his superior, in every fashion, thus creating a feel of inadequacy in ZIM that the deluded Irken finds foreign to him, just as he also has been shown to exhibit human emotions, despite  the fact that he was born in a tube meant to extract any sort of individuality from him and have him obey the orders of the Control Brains and the figurehead Tallest without any questions asked, which is why he doesn't see that the Tallest are just making him the butt of their jokes and that his whole mission to conquer Earth is a lie (the Tallest banished ZIM because they blame him for the failure of the first Irken operation to control the gallaxy, even though the Tallest themselves are rather incompetent in general). In the final battle, ZIM just has a few Irkens by his side, but also has help from Gaz, the sister of his arch-nemesis. Imagine how strange it must be for ZIM to be allied with one of the members of the race that he had originally intended to eradicate, especially a female who has proven herself to be basically better than him?

The one thing that I would like to see is the blog or video in which Eric Trueheart gave this information, just for definite confirmation purposes, but I do appreciate your thorough explanation of this situation. Although, I must say that I would personally have an easier time viewing Zim and Gaz ruthlessly dominating their world as platonic life-partners rather than as a full-blown couple. Who knows?

Also, just one little nit pick of mine: As much as I liked the connection you made with ZAGR and Nny/Devi, I'm pretty certain that Devi lost any romantic feelings for Nny as result of the incident in JTHM (leading to her locking herself in her apartment in fear), and possibly even more so once she found out that he probably past "Sickness" onto her in her own comic, "I Feel Sick".

Alas, I didn't go. But my friend and fellow ZAGR supporter, BriteStarRobot , went and she got the confirmation from Eric herself, or so she told me. I trust her judgment enough as her friend to not tell me fibs about things we're united in.

Agreed. Eric Trueheart and the rest were considering this route as the finale, but the show was prematurely cancelled before any of it could happened, making ZAGR the un-aired canon, essentially.
