Did you know there's a mission in Hitman: Contracts where you have to assassinate a group of English hunters?

Yeah, it's actually a cross between an assassination and search and rescue mission. The main character has to travel to Beldingford Manor (a fictional manor, mind you) to rescue Giles Northcott. A man who was kidnapped and held hostage by the Beldingfords (the English hunters) who were going to hunt the poor guy down. It isn't confirmed whether or not the hunters hunt foxes, but judging from the outfits the both targets wear, it is likely that they would. Here's the video of the mission if you're interested: www.youtube.com/watch?v=ljsTfS… ^^

I'll say that's a hypocrisy!
Fox hunting isn't as taken seriously in America but we do have a fox hunting season in Minnesota but I don't think hunting them with dogs is legal.
But I do believe it's still legal in the south

1992

When I lived in my mother’s and my stepfather’s house in Gundy (20 kilometres east of Scone), New South Wales - I briefly made friends with a middle-aged couple who had a four wheel drive towing a horse float. Their car keys had a cartoon key ring which had a cartoon of a fox dressed in fox hunting clothes - it was awesome.

Incidentally, it was when I did a Technical College course in Horse Husbandry in Scone, New South Wales. I did that course because there were no art schools available in the place where I lived and I had to do something useful while I wait until there is an art school available. I had no idea what I was trying to prove when I chose to do that course. Needless to say, I was confused and withdrawn. Why? Because my stepfather had years of heavy drinking; he had brain damage; he had harrassed me to the extreme since the day he joined my family; he said to me, “You’re going to work on a stud when you finish that course! This is your last chance!” I said to my stepfather, “But...I don’t want to work on a stud! I want to go to an art school to publish my cartoon drawings!”

Anyhow - during my Technical College course in Horse Husbandry, the staff had trained me how to ride a horse; trained me to jump on the horse like The Three Amigos; they trained me to stand up on the top of the horse’s backside, etc. The training techniques had inspired me to draw a cartoon about a fox dressed in a fox hunting coat and hat riding on a horse. The fox pulls back on the reins to stop the horse. The fox stands up on top of the horse’s backside. The cartoon was awesome.

I read a poem titled “The Fox Hunt” - it was awesome.

1994

I watched the fox hunt on “The Animals of Farthing Wood” - it was awesome.
I watched some fox hunts in England on a TV documentary titled, “Talk To The Animals” - it was awesome.

A figurine like this would be the height of hypocrisy. They used to be fairly common in 'gift' shops in The Lake District during the dark days before fox hunting was outlawed.

Great expressive pose again. I've seen ornaments like that - it is pretty hypocritical and yet I do like the combination!

There is an old poem i know, which freely translated from the Irish says
I realized fear one mornin'
At the blair of the fox hunter's sound
When they're all chasing after the poor bloody fox
Tis safer be dressed as the hound

Old movie reference.

David-AF [2012-06-10 06:56:29 +0000 UTC]

He's not a hypocrite! He's participating in the ancient and noble sport of "rabbit hunting." It's a way for civilized foxes to reconnect to their feral roots.

FreyFox In reply to David-AF [2012-06-10 09:37:29 +0000 UTC]

Except in "traditional" fox hunting they purpose is to kill for fun rather than for food. So I don't suppose huntsmen foxes would be any better

My fanfic character Phillip Fox would consider the word "vermin" offensive.
