Ahhhhhh, so cool!! I really should get to our animal park. I have a 300 lense but it doesnt function well with my newer camera so i really want to get a new one with a stabilizer. Love your shot!

Thank you! This is a Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM. I love this lens! I've never tried a telephoto without a stabilizer, but I'm sure I need it.
This is most likely taken at 300 mm, because the lions are kind of far away. They're separated by a moat and everything.

YW & my pleasure. I know...the stabilizer is so important for this focal length and that's why I need a new one. I have three Nikons but I don't have the newer telephoto lense for my new camera. I use my old lense with a unipod or tripod

I have a tripod, but I rarely take it with me. It's bulky, and I like moving around a lot. Plus, my lenses are all fairly light (though my arm can feel it after an entire day of shooting). Maybe I'll use it more someday, I'll just have to see.

Yes, tripods can be cumbersome and annoying...gotta get myself that 300 w/stabilizer. Two lenses I always carry (besides the average size) macro & telephoto...wide angle only sometimes. Thanks for the detailed info!
