Don't know the story on what's going on this exactly. Just wanted to make a picture featuring Elle my borrower character and her new fairy friend (who doesn't have a name yet) that created. Maybe she rescued him since she's used to roaming around the floral shop, or he did, and hiding behind some colored glass vase as they wait for the human to completely pass by them.Either way i had fun creating this. Enjoyed creating the vase and it's little shadow. And her fairy characters so cute! I just had to draw him.

This really makes me think: whenever you see a movie, or read a book, about fairies or other kinds of tiny people (Arrietty by Miyazaki, The Borrowers, etc.), the tinies always try hard not to be seen by "us". And... I've always found that weird. Why would they want to hide themselves? Sure, they might be afraid of humans, but a big friend could help them with tons of tasks that would be otherwise impossible for such tiny people. It's not like they're going to meet a certain death if they reveal themselves to the world, unless they're dumb enough to show up at the house of a serial killer or whatever. This is even truer in the modern world, where we're all connected to each other thanks to the Internet: if a fairy decided to appear in front of me right now, I'd immediately give proof of it to others... and then the government would knock on my door within minutes, to provide assistance and help for her and her friends. And I mentioned a fairy, who can fly at least: if they're just "regular" tiny people like Arrietty, why forcing themselves to spend a poor life living under someone's floor, when they have a chance to hope for a better life? Being so scared of humans, even when things are like this, has always sounded senseless to me.
Anyway, sorry for writing such a long thought
