Artstation´s THE JOURNEY - 2D Environment Art Challenge submission
In his journey to discover the cause of the cataclysmic event that tore the world asunder,
the lone wanderer has made his way to the once great capital city,
unaware of the watchful eyes of the few remaining inhabitants.

Reminds me of the last DLC in Darksouls 2.
You enter the mostly abandonded Kingdom of Eleum Loyce.
A beautiful feeling of solace gripped me in presence of a big bright Capitalcity encased in ice.
Darksouls is mostly... well, Dark 
Everything is kinda post-apocalyptic.
Eleum Loyce was no exception but managed to make it look great and beautiful.

I love the blend of the 2 colours, and a very good imaginative theme

I just imagine this being in a video game and everyone hates this place because never-ending murder ghosts spawn in the city streets and it's super hard to find anything but at the same time it also has mini-bosses that drop loot that everyone needs and so they have to drudge through the endless horrors that haunt the dead city. Sorry I have a bit of an over-active imagination.

Very nice work, mate. The landscape certainly shows the extent of how abandoned and hollow the city has become since it died and subsequently froze over as a result.

I love how this image makes stories come up into my head.
Also I adore this sensation of the setting sun and the shadows creeping up behind the wanderer,
just like the cloaked figures within the ruins.... <3
