Book description: Russet-coloured tom with darker flecks and amber eyes.
Summary:
Being heavily influenced by his father, this kit stands out quite a bit from his littermates. He's mostly russet-coloured/dark ginger with flecks similar to both Mars and Freckleflight's markings. His eyes are mostly gotten from his father as well, amber. For his build he is somewhat muscular and rather stocky, a fairly classic tom. As he ages his russet colour has grown more brown in colour, but retains some of the red-ish hue. Several scars cross his fur after his accident, and one of his eyes is slightly paler than the other due to blindness entering his left eye.

Scent: Mother's milk. Birch trees.

Perhaps not the cleverest fighter, but he can land some dangerously heavy blows and has a solid defense.

Personality Traits: Independent
Being raised mainly outside clan territory, Chirp has gained a trait which many will envy him for. He can live on his own, and is capable of independent thought. Whilst he prefers being in the company of at least one other cat, he's been taught and raised in a way which made him unable to rely on his foster parent for food and comfort. Thus he's grown to become something of a reliable figure in situations similar to these.

Easy to satisfy/optimistic
He doesn't need a whole lot to be satisfied. Give him a place to hunt, and a burrow and he can live contently for the rest of his life (provided neither factor disappears). Is overall very positive to everything, from the smallest greeting to a familial hug. He'll take everything with open arms, and will likely see the positive in everything another cat says. Yes, even the insults...

Talkative
Living up to the origin of his name, Chirp has an awful tendency to talk a lot. Whilst it's often not a bad thing, he can often overload others with his questions, digging for information and general small talk. This combined with his optimistic attitude, and you get an unstoppable talking-machine. No wonder he was thrown out of the burrow at times... Either way, this is listed as neutral as it can't really be defined as positive or negative before it's been measured to the cat he's communicating with.

Cowardly
Not really ready to stand up for anyone, if they made a mistake. Not the cat that dives head-first into a den and calls it a day. No, he prefers to keep to the back-line and be a bit cautious about everything. He'll usually be very optimistic about checking something out, but when asked if he wishes to check it out himself he'll gladly pull back. He does not enjoy danger and is a very flight-like cat. Even in battle; which is probably unwanted among the leaders as he's a pretty tough cat with possibility of strong defense.

Tell him the sky is green and he'll actually believe you (que: "whoa, I thought we called that colour blue!"). He was dim as a kit, and he seemingly hasn't grown it off quite yet. What a mess - honestly.

Maggotkit's mother, Freckleflight, was a bit of a daring she-cat. She didn't mind entering the world with the sole purpose of doing-the-do, and found herself encountering 3 rather charming males. A SkyClan warrior which she'd mated with previously (obviously with no offspring coming off of that), a kittypet she happened to run into that got her high on catnip, and a SkyClan warrior whom she actually befriended to some degree. Surprisingly enough, the matings happened with such a short amount of time between them and with her undoubtedly being in heat, the litter turned out to be with 3 different fathers. Driftkit being assigned Luckyleap of SkyClan as his father, Birdkit being assigned Sparklingheart of SkyClan as her father and finally little Maggotkit whom ended up having Mars the kittypet as his father.

Kithood | 1 moon - 4 moons
Kithood was... Special. Maggotkit was named what was supposed to be a foul name, and was always nicknamed by his aunts thanks to the prefix being rather unusual for a kit, describing a larva that most cats viewed as disgusting. During kithood Maggotkit was extremely curious and would run off at random in hopes of discovering new places, but was fortunately always contained to camp.

Until one faithful day, when he escaped camp to go look at the river which he'd been told about. His aunt informed the clan of him missing, and Freckleflight was among the first to go search for him. His biological mother came across him seated by the river, hopping from rock to rock pawing at the water. When she called out he flinched and fell in, being taken by the heavy streams of new leaf. Freckleflight attempted to save her kit, her motherly feelings showing for once as she jumped in. However, the stream took them both and as of today nothing is known about their whereabouts.

Kithood Part II | 4 moons - 6 moons
Freckleflight unfortunately succumbed to the depths of the river, drowning. However, in doing so it seems she granted her kit life. Maggotkit survived the ordeal, albeit bruised and battered, twigs and other objects in the river scraping him up pretty badly. A cat named Todd came across him whilst he was out, and took in the kit. Todd was a former clan cat turned rogue, and albeit not living in the clans any longer, respected the warriorcode. The old tom wasn't fond of kittens inherently, but figured he couldn't leave a kit to die. He nurtured the kit back to health using basic herbs, but wasn't skilled enough to save the kit's eye from going blind. As soon as Maggotkit woke up, he began asking questions and talking in rambles. Most of his past as a clan cat had been wiped away with the river, as well as any recollection of his name. Todd would often yell "stop the chirp!" when Maggotkit talked too much, and as such Maggotkit adopted the name "Chirp".

With a new life outside the clans, and with a foster father whom did not care much for hunting food for him nor provide shelter unless an emergency arose, Chirp soon learned to take use of his own hunting skills as well as a nearby burrow. At this point Chirp was about 6 moons old, and in Todd's eyes that was old enough to make it on his own.

Rogue life | 6 moons-?
Two moons passed quickly, and Chirp was starting to experience a large amount of flashbacks to his past. This mostly towards the life within a large group of cats, the scent of a mother... Siblings. He couldn't make out anything clearly though, any at visible in his flashbacks were of one colour and hardly had any features that would make them recognizable. Todd explained about the life of clan cats, and sent the youngling back north to find his roots. Honestly, the old tom was likely glad to be rid of the chatter-happy cat. Let loose on a new adventure, Chirp now seeks to figure out what happened to him.

He blinked at her with surprise, the words spilling out of her mouth almost in another language in the tom's ears. He could not completely process what she was talking about, it was just moving so quickly and he couldn't catch on quite what she meant. She seemed generally upset though.

She had tried to push him into asking her for mateship one more time? Truthfully, he had not noticed those attempts. The tom felt dizzy, why had he not realized she felt this way earlier? "I assure you I haven't ignored anything, I'm just as slow as a slug," he murmured with a sheepish grin. He was about to pull off a comment on what he thought of this, when the she-cat said there was more. In truth he was glad, for he was unsure on what he might reply with to her very emotional confession of wanting another "proposal" of sorts.

What more was there to come from this she-cat's mouth, though? She'd already surprised him with the words she'd produced so far, what more was there to surprise him with. "Enlighten me. What more is there that has gone right under my nose unnoticed?" he said in a calm voice. Not stern, not harsh, just mild and gentle as he tried to coax the rest of the information the she-cat was sitting on out of her. As he watched her, he found himself rather enticed with how her lavender and mint-green eyes fit in perfectly with the environment they were in, the lavenders blowing gently in the wind.
