Until "Where The Apples Lie" this is how I thought the whole Sparity thing would end(or maybe with one of the other cmc), but then that episode show that there could very well be a bigger age grape between Spike and the cmc then him and the mane 6.

I wanted to write a Fanfic about this but my ADD wouldn't let me so here are the finer points.
The CMC asked Spike to take them to prom. While they had fun, Spike was curious as to why. Sweetie spills the beans. They feel bad that one of them has to keep him for themselves. So they decide to share him while they still can. Spike is not exactly angry. But states that if they want a chance at him they should maybe ask first.
Sweetie steals a kiss, and Rarity doesn't look happy. Sweetie goes inside and Rarity thanks Spike for taking care of her sis, with a kiss.
